Very true. But we as a society have deemed that an acceptable risk. Death due to what will inevitably be considered government intervention is a whole different story. Which is why we should have a voluntary vaccination program in place now, build up herd immunity for a sizable chunk of the population, then hope we don't need to take the compulsory vaccination route should an outbreak occur.
