[history]
The spokesman for U.S. bishops hashing out a sex-abuse policy for the church protected homosexual priests who joined a pornographic Internet chat room, where participants railed against Pope John Paul II's policies against homosexual clergy and one eagerly anticipated his death.

A fascinating insight into the world of the clerical lavender set. For Dallas area Freepers the wretched Rev Garner should be a focus of special attention. Note his response when he found out his queer chat site was outed.

I watched an interview on ETWN last night the host asked Anthony Cardinal Bevilaqua (sp?) is they would be addressing the homosexual issue and the cardinal said flat NO - and that he saw no connection bewtween the abuse of minors and homosexuality.
The carinals just don't get it.

Garner and Mallinson.Know 'em both; gay as geese.
Garner as much as admits here that he's violating his vows.
What normal, heterosexual man would want to be a part of La Cage aux Foilles, the Catholic priesthood?
Just remember, for everyone of these stories you read about, there are three or four or more.

Is Larry Pichard the pastor? He can't be happy about this kind of thing.

"Forgive me father for I have sinned.....I did what you did"
Somehow I don't see that as workable? Sink, check Dallas Morning News
Looks like the tide is changing and zero tolerence will be just that.
No Bill Clinton wiggle language.....hopefully

I watched an interview on ETWN last night the host asked Anthony Cardinal Bevilaqua (sp?) is they would be addressing the homosexual issue and the cardinal said flat NO - I saw a rerun this AM. Has Bevilacqua been "gotten to"? I thought he was one of the good guys. And it's not only what he said -- he looked so shifty-eyed and uncomfortable. Something's going on here.

"I have always been clear and firm on that"--Bishop Joesph A. Galante
Why, I'll bet he was for sure !
To: robowombat
There are no priests currently serving in the Diocese of Dallas who have an allegation against them that involves minors," said a statement issued by Dallas diocesan spokesman Bronson Havard. Really? So, which diocese are these priests serving at? It seems to me that the history of shuffling these offending priests around to different dioceses makes this statement laughable.

Isn't Cardinal Bevelaqua the one that made some pretty damning statements about homosexuality and the priesthood when this scandal first broke in Boston? He has been officially muzzled.
To: LibertarianLiz
Bevilaqua had reportedly set a hard line on homosexuals and cleaned up his seminary. Which makes his behavior here strange.

Joseph Galante <------ is one of the good guys.
Dallas Coadjutor Bishop Joseph Galante said midday Wednesday that Catholic bishops meeting in Dallas will discuss what can be done to hold bishops accountable for mismanaging cases of clergy sexual misconduct.
He said it wasn't enough for bishops to simply say that they had made mistakes, because Catholics are demanding greater accountability for those mistakes. But, he said, only the pope could issue sanctions against such bishops, and most church officials say that isn't likely. see Dallas Morning News

You have forgotten already how to read Clinton-speak. "There are no...
with MINORS"
Posting to a homo chat board is not pedophilia.
An occasion of sin, yes. Pedophilia, no.

I don't feel good about spying on priests - what they write in chat rooms. Maybe it was someone else doing the posting. On other other hand, THIS WHOLE THINK STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!!
