How's this for a big-league doubleheader: Both the Republicans and Democrats hold their 2004 presidential nominating conventions right here in New York City?

Mayor Bloomberg lately has been an eloquent advocate for doing just that.

Will Democratic boss Terry McAuliffe and his GOP counterpart, Marc Racicot, answer the call?

I'd pay to see the RINOS and democraps duke it out in the ring at Madison Square Garden. A fight to the death. The last surviving Politico gets an all expense paid vacation to Tora Bora.

Actually, I'm all for holding every big event you can think of in New York from now on... These conventions, the Super Bowls, all the US Opens in pro golf, 2012 Olympics, America's Cup races, the Goodwill Games, Wheel of Fortune road trips, whatever... That'd really put a thumb in the eye of Osama bin Laden...
