Harbor officials doing an inventory of the islands' moorings on Sunday found that 15 of the 50 buoys installed last August by the Boston Harbor Islands Partnership to provide safe anchorage and on-site waste removal services to private boaters had been stolen.

I think this is actually a very good anti-terror tactic... When the terrorists come in to the harbor, and find no buoy to moor to... they will be forced to move on.

Drat! foiled again!

Seriously.... What is your point with this?

"Grab your tinfoil hat"

Trouble is, we no longer have the luxury at laughing at even the smallest of suspicious activity such as this.

Yes, we should all keep our eyes and ears open.

Some of these are pretty peculiar keywords for this story, don't you think? I sure do.

Seriously.... What is your point with this?

Perhaps they were relocated to "out of the way" coves and inlets near potential scuba diver attack-able targets.

Yuck. Don't eat Boston Harbor lobsters! Maine and Canadian lobsters are better.

Perhaps... Installing buoys to tie up to at all potential target locations ahead of time is so much nicer than having to anchor out when you get there!

Terror related item?

An obvious Al Quaeda plot to disrupt recreational boating in Boston Harbor.

Heck, for that matter, one could pack the boat with explosives, tie off right at the target with the pre-placed moorings and swim away.

An interesting aside I found in many local historical society libraries is that there were many "Boston" Tea parties all over the place at that time.

Boston not being the first or thee largest.

Interesting what is & isn't included in our little schoolhouse history books.
