Saddam's son forecasts attack

BAGHDAD: Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's eldest son Uday has warned of a US plan to launch a military strike on Iraq and break up countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia.

"The US administration has drawn up a plan aimed at striking Iraq and breaking up the countries of the region," Uday claimed in a long article that covered the front and back pages of his Babel newspaper.

The plan envisaged making "Jordan an alternative country for the Palestinians, dividing Saudi Arabia into three parts, and scrapping Bahrain's identity and re-attaching it to Persia", he said in the article, which carried one of his pseudonyms, Abu Hatem.

The United Arab Emirates would remain united only as long as Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan remained head of state, Uday added, warning that the country "will be divided up eventually".

"Iraq is ready to come to the rescue of Saudi Arabia if the country is threatened," the article said.

"A single telephone call, a simple sign to Baghdad, and they (the Saudis) will see Iraq launch all its forces to support the kingdom against those seeking to break it up.

"Support will be given, whether by unarmed men or men armed to the teeth, by tanks placed at the border for Saudis to use, or tanks manned by Iraqis."

But he said the US plan would not succeed while the Palestinian intifada against Israel continued.

"When the embargo imposed on Iraq (for invading Kuwait in 1990) is lifted, (Baghdad) will enter directly the Arab-Zionist conflict, which, from a US standpoint, will cause an imbalance in forces in the region and world," he warned.

Saddam Hussein has announced that 6.5 million Iraqis have been mobilised to "liberate Palestine", and are waiting for Arab states bordering Israel to open their frontiers.

The US administration has repeatedly threatened to launch a military strike on Iraq to topple the regime of Saddam Hussein.

The US has accused Hussein of developing weapons of mass destruction.

On Friday, the New York Times reported that a top secret US military document outlines a massive, three-pronged attack on Iraq by land, sea and air with as many as 250,000 troops and hundreds of war planes.

The prospect of US military action was heightened this week after talks between Baghdad and the United Nations on the return of UN weapons inspectors to Iraq broke down.

The New York Times report of the "leak" is a fake. This report was printed for no other reason but to sabotage any kind of invasion of Iraq involving nations bordering Iraq.

Breaking up a few countries in that region of the world would be to our advantage. We should install pro-Western leaders and give U.S. oil companies concessions in those countries.

Kissing the royal butt.

What are you 10 years old, we have been meddling in the affairs of others around the world for decades, show me one place it has worked to anyone’s advantage. The net result of this action would create suicide bombers in western cities.

Smarter men than GWB have attempted to build long lasting peace and promote their legacy in the Middle East, up to now all have failed miserably.

We've already had homicide bombers, they killed 3000 people on 9/11 and 2 on 4/7.

"Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's eldest son Uday has warned of a US plan to launch a military strike on Iraq and break up countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia."

Actually, we've promised Turkey not to break up Iraq, since they don't want an independent Kurdistan. Breaking up Saudi Arabia is a good idea. There are already several Arab Emirates on the Gulf, let's add a half of a dozen more and split up the rest of the country. They'll be too busy developing their country to be funding Wahhabism worldwide. Good for us, good for them, good for the Arabs.

This nonsense is put out to bolster the weak son of Saddam.

In Baghdad, Iraq, locals are betting that Udai Hussein, Saddams weak and gay son, has no testicular fortitude.
He has already surrendered to his father's demands that he can not be trusted to be rational
or carry arms near his father.
The photo is Udai the weak and limp.

Except for the last (Bahrain to Iran) part, it sounds like an OK plan to me!

Or maybe just an excuse to get Iraqi tanks into Baghdad without having to shoot their way in.
