After hundreds of lawsuits, and the howling roar of silence from Reuters regarding them, Judicial Watch's latest ditty shockingly debuts at Numero Uno on the Reuters “Top Stories” Yahoo charts:

Group Sues Cheney, Halliburton over Accounting
Wed Jul 10,10:15 AM ET

MIAMI (Reuters) - A public interest legal group filed a shareholder lawsuit on Wednesday alleging Vice President Dick Cheney ( news - web sites) and the oil services company he ran for five years, Halliburton Co., as well as accounting firm Andersen, defrauded shareholders through accounting fraud.

The lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch alleges that while Cheney was Halliburton's chief executive officer, he and its other directors inflated revenue reports, which increased the stock's value.

"They overstated their revenues by tens of millions of dollars and that's an understatement," said Larry Klayman, chairman and general counsel at Judicial Watch. The civil suit was filed in Dallas federal court.

Klayman said the inflated revenues resulted from accounting changes that were never made public as required by law. The lawsuit did not specify the amount of compensation the plaintiff shareholders are seeking. But Klayman said: "We're seeking millions and millions of dollars. ... It's to punish the people involved."

Cheney worked as chief executive of Halliburton from 1995 to 2000.

Congrats Larry! You’ve finally found the magic formula for glorious media stardom! Took you long enough!

Well enough did that he was elected.....

"You can't panhandle for money from the American people," said Klayman, a registered Republican who voted for Democrat Jimmy Carter in the wake of Watergate. The fund, he said, "opened a Pandora's box of people trying to influence them."

Well - it's equal.

The press hates you, and every American who loves decency, honor, integrity, freedom, and President Bush!

They will never stop until they have destroyed us all and are standing with their fists in the air on the rubble they have wrought.

They need to be slapped down with an iron fist and the sooner the better. Take off the gloves, pubbies!!! And any and all who still love this country!

I hate politics.

So do I. I have started spending a lot more time in prayer, and a lot less time on talk radio.

I am seriously praying that God will remove the vermin from government.

That's not to say that I'm not going to stop WORKING at VOTING them out, writing and phoning, but am adding serious prayer to my activism.

Very seldom ever turn on talk radio anymore and that is all I used to listen to. When my radio is on it is turned to music the vast majority of time or sports talk radio on the local Norman station. Cannot take most of these political talk shows anymore! I'll read instead what is happening which makes it less stressful!

Well, Klayman was right about Clinton. But he never got ANYTHING of any substance accomplished. NONE of the Clinton lawsuits brought any justice for any of those seeking it.

But the BUSH Administration lawsuits will being Klayman riches beyond his wildest dreams and positions of power, if he wants them - in order to continue to do the bidding of the GlobalSocialists who want nothing better than for America, Americans, and all who love them - including our President and Vice President - to be destroyed.....or, better said, to be conquered....so that they may rule over it in their Globaloney world socialist utopia!

Maybe Lar will get he chief of propaganda post there!

Since he is laying down with dogs, Larry should not be surprised when his immortal soul becomes just one more of Satan's trophies!

Anyone want to bet that Perot money has been funding a good portion of this Bush witchhunt by Klayman?

That may be the reason he won't open up his list of donors but was willing to sell his mailing list -- bet they are not one in the same!

It's been forever obvious to us that the press is extremely biased in their reporting, always skewing it in favor of the left. I'm sure Klayman has known this for a long time. If he indeed is in it for the cash and notoriety, why didn't he go after GOP leaders in the past?

You know what I find most interesting? Larry was a Golden Child fighting the good fight while he was trying to expose X42 for the scumbag he was. Now, the tides have turned and any skeletons in GOP closet are not too be mentioned.

What gives? If there is something fishy, shouldn't we know about it?

Today might be an interesting day to listen to Rush. He has a substitute host, Tom Sullivan, who is a financial guy. Could shed a lot of light on yesterday's speech.

I have not trashed Larry Klayman, on this or any other thread.

My beef is not with him (though his post-election forays into political second guessing and harping have not left me much of a fan either.)

My complaint, and the reason I started this thread, relates to his sudden credibilty in the mainstream, "unbiased" media. He has suddenly gone from "conservative activist" to "non-partisan, public interest group founder."

Additionally, I would venture to guess that none of the people trashing him on this thread would ever try to stake a claim that they are non-partisan recorders of factual events. Rueters, AP, CBS, and every other mainstream outlet swears to the heavens that they are.

I know that wasn't your purpose, I just think that it would be obvious to all that if Larry was chasing publicity and cash he would have focused on the Right a long time ago...unless his motivations aren't as unsavory as some here believe?

I can't claim to know Larry's motivations either way, but going after Clinton was quite profitable for him when Clinton was in power. There was a lot of people willing to contribute to see him brought down.

Now that's he's gone, that well is bone dry.

Oh please. Klayman has been seen for the money-grubbing ambulance chaser he is for a long time by anyone who noted that he raised tens of millions of dollars appealing to conservatives to 'Bring the Clintons to justice' and spent a paltry few million of it on actual legal work - which never did much in exposing the Clinton crimes. It was a fraud on gullible conservatives who wanted someone, anyone, to bring Clinton down and expose his crimes. Klayman failed and got wealthy doing so. Most conservatives abandoned his 'cause' long ago, although the letters begging for donations continue to flow.

Now, seeing he's mined the conservative money fields for all he's going to get and Clinton is a fading memory for most, Larry has turned around and decided there is mucho gold in Democrat pockets that he can stake a claim on. Many liberals hate President Bush as much as conservatives hated Bill Clinton and a shot a Dick Cheney is worth a few bucks, just to make Republicans look bad, even if only for one news cycle. Klayman won't get anywhere with this suit but he doesn't care. He wants the money!

Donations; lot's of them, from Bush-hating Democrats who don't know the scam and will willingly fork over some cash to 'get' the Bush administration with this stupid, grandstanding lawsuit. When he fails, Klayman will claim the 'Bush people' had a hand in shutting down his lawsuit and vow to 'keep fighting' - and keep collecting donations.

It's a neat scam. It plays on political and emotional animus and a desire for 'justice'. Conservatives fell for it big time and Klayman collected millions. Now, he's set his sights on Democrat pockets and Dick Cheney is the target. George W. Bush will be next, almost guaranteed. Wait for it.

Anyone can file a lawsuit and hold a press conference announcing it. With a liberal media, eager to smear the Bush administration and failing thus far, Klayman will get ample publicity for his lawsuit and he knows this. The pleas for donations come next as Larry 'fights corrupt big business'.

Judicial Watch and Larry Klayman are frauds...a scam to play off peoples political grudges and make millions doing it. Most FReepers (not all, I suppose) see Klayman for what he is and although we may still despise Bill Clinton, we are no longer taken in by phoney legal attemts to 'bring Clinton to justice' so Larry had to find a new money tree. Besides, now he'll be on the D.C. 'A' list for dinners and parties. He's anti-Bush...seeking the 'truth' about Dick Cheney and by the way, how much can he put you down for?

Golden Boy? More like Scam-Boy and no friend of conservatives.

So you're saying people who don't support Bush go to Hell? I shouldn't be surprised; you're also the one who wants an "iron first" against people you don't like. How American of you.

I am saying that if you are allied with communists, whose souls are sold to Satan himself - why would your own soul not similarly be sold?

President Bush is not the issue here. The issue is who is one's allies.
