Judicial Watch Claims Support From CNN Poll
Self

Posted on 07/12/2002 3:40:58 AM PDT by Moby Grape

Today I received an email for Judicial Watch claiming overwhelming support for the Chenney lawsuit because on on-line CNN poll suggested the American people wanted this suit. A new LOW for JW....I replied to the email stating that anyone in this country with half a brain knows CNN as the CLINTON NEWS NETWORK, and what REALLY matters is if JW is getting any "support" from those endless fund rasing letters sent out by their attention grubbing ego hound leader (and of course I said "I WANT MY DONATION BACK).

Klayman has to know that quoting an "on-line" poll is something that James Carville would do, or even worse, Joe Conason.

Klayman built a cottage industry in suing Clinton et al back in the nineties; along the way, he collected a great deal of money from people like me to pursue those claims. He is merely a narcisstic, publicity hound who is expanding his product line by suing Bush, Cheney et al so that he can use a Democrat fund-raising list to further his real goal of self-promotion. Ignore him and most of all, vote with your wallet by keeping it closed.

OVERWHELMING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR JUDICIAL WATCH LAWSUIT AGAINST VP CHENEY & HALLIBURTON

CNN Internet Survey Shows 95% of Americans Want Answers From VP Cheney Regarding Halliburton Accounting

Lawsuit is Strong Legal Action During Period of Financial Crisis Marked by Political Rhetoric and Posturing

(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption and abuse, said today that the lawsuit it brought on behalf of Halliburton shareholders against Vice President Dick Cheney, the other involved directors of Halliburton, as well as Halliburton and the Arthur Andersen accounting firm, for alleged fraudulent accounting practices, enjoys overwhelming public support.

A CNN poll, featured on the Internet web site of Lou Dobbs, the anchor and managing editor of “Lou Dobb’s Moneyline” – the prestigious and authoritative financial and business news program – revealed that 95% of the respondents answered “Yes” to the question, “Should Vice President Dick Cheney answer questions about accounting at Halliburton?” A similar poll on the Judicial Watch web site (www.JudicialWatch.org) shows 83% of respondents answering “Yes” to the question, “Should Vice president Cheney be required to answer accounting questions about Halliburton?” Interestingly, both the “Moneyline” and Judicial Watch web sites are likely frequented by large numbers of economic and social conservatives. This proves that conservatives are as concerned as liberals about Cheney’s alleged involvement in stock fraud.

“The American people are fed-up with corporate fraud and powerful politicians operating as if they were above the law. The life savings of millions of Americans have been devastated by a string of major bankruptcies and alleged fraudulent corporate accounting practices. President Bush and other Congressional leaders have spent weeks talking about cracking down on corporate fraud – but at Judicial Watch, we are doing something about it, not just talking about it. Vice President Cheney has a lot of questions to answer about his days at Halliburton, and President Bush should take responsibility for his Vice President. It is extremely hypocritical and improper for President Bush to chastise Wall Street and corporate CEO’s and rush to propose more regulation of private industry while simultaneously dodging questions and making dismissive remarks about his Vice President’s own alleged improper business practices,” stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman.

Notice how a simple statement like:

95% of the respondents answered “Yes” to the question, “Should Vice President Dick Cheney answer questions about accounting at Halliburton?”

OVERWHELMING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR JUDICIAL WATCH LAWSUIT AGAINST VP CHENEY & HALLIBURTON

On Aaron Brown's show on CNN Wednesday night, Klayman said that Dick Cheney is the defacto president of the United States and runs the country. On Laura Ingraham's show last night, he said the following:

I hope that you are all sitting down and have the Valium nearby.

I just heard Larry Klayman on Laura Ingraham's show. After trying to hide behind phrases like "our complaint alleges," he finally said that he personally believes that Dick Cheney intentionally and deliberately defrauded investors. Laura said that he couldn't possibly believe that, and that if that were so that Cheney should be impeached. KLAYMAN SAID THAT IT MAY COME TO THAT!

He said that they would get to do all sorts of discovery and even depose Cheney, and that the evidence which he uncovers could lead to impeachment.

I could not believe that even he is that despicable. But you simply cannot imagine how much he loathes George Bush with every fibre of his being.

Any ideas, other than ego or getting into the limelight, why Klayman is he$$-bent on bringing down this administration?

He said they would get to do all sorts of discovery and even depose Cheney....

Doesn't he first have to go before a judge and present his "evidence" for proceeding on such a course AND the judge decides if his "evidence" is credible enough to proceed to discovery?

What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If Cheney cut corners he will have to pay. If he is found to be innocent of financial liability, he won't. There is nothing wrong with the rich and famous having to follow the same laws as the rest of us have to.

Yes. But the Klayman supporters have already said that the case might get thrown out because "Cheney has the judges in their pockets."

Money is the root of this. His "donations" are down 10 million since 2000.

In order to get to that point, the defendants are going to file their response and a motion to dismiss (among other legal goodies, like a motion for summary judgment). There'll be a hearing (or hearings)--and possibly appeals--on that before Larry even gets to the discovery part of this case IF he gets there at all.

You are NOT paying close attention...Chenny and Bush filed ALL required LEGAL documents YEARS ago. They were examined during the election cyle. They have done NOTHING wrong. This is POLITICAL (and in the case of the publicity money grubbing Judicial Watch...just that).

The Clinton gang is behind this. Carville, Begala, Bubba they are all supporting Klayman and promising him fame and fortune. They will be throwing lots of dirt from now until Novemeber to see what sticks.

Vice President Cheney will fight back.
