The article states she "did not report the rape." That has nothing to do with "pressing charges." Many rapes go unreported but that does not stop them from being offenses needing adjudication.

I believe in major cases it is not a matter of pressing charges. It is the state's duty to pursue the criminals. I think it is likely that the tape got to be known and that led to the arrests. Similarly, some boys killed a deer out of season and bragged so much that they were arrested. One lost out on a military career. It will always haunt them. I don't have any feelings for the deer, but kids do not think about consequences even with relatively small matters.

This was a horrible crime and it deserves to be prosecuted with exquisite justice.

I find it odd that the teens think they need to drug a
girl to have sex in a society that it obviously out of

I can't read the link, but my guess is that the girl didn't have any real memory of what went on, if she was unconscious. When my son was in public school high school, the kids broke into an empty beach house and held a huge party after winning the state basketball championship and the boys (the principal's son and captain of the team was the ring leader), got a girl very drunk until she passed out and then about five of them had sex with her. She didn't remember what happened, but her sister was there and told her, but did nothing to prevent it because she was almost as drunk or drugged. Yes, this is the same high school where they forced the retarded boy to give them a blow job, yes it was the same boys and also the same boys that were involved in cross border drug traffic and a lot more.
