The only "nuts" that I see in here are those of the religious variety. You fools must consider coming down from your high horses and stow the religous extremism. I find it more than just a bit ironic that these zealots continue to beat the drum of the "my God is better than your God" crowd when it is this very attitude that brought the twin towers down! Religious zealots of any denomination are a threat to the freedoms of all free people. Our schools should be centers of education rather than centers of indoctrination. Whether this indoctrination is religious or political makes not one little bit of difference. The pledge smacks of Hitler's brown shirts if you ask me and the addition of the words "under God" does little to alter my opinion.

I don't recall asking you about anything. You have no idea about me. Yes, I love my God and pray to him everyday not just for me but for the health and happiness of others especially those with heartbreak and illness. How you can compare my religion with that of the people who murdered innocent people I have no idea. It shows how much you know about people of religion. I also don't recall saying that "my God is better than your God" to anyone.
Why not get that chip off your shoulder and rid yourself of the hate in your heart for people you don't understand?
If you think "the pledge smacks of Hitler's brown shirts" just keep your mouth shut and no one will care especially me.

YOU are the MAN! No one said it better.
People of religion are troublesome. Faith is fine, it tends to help folks through tough times. But I just can't say too often here at FR that we are all more similar than we are different!
"Chicago" the early ones.....It's Only The Beginning".........or, "We Can Make It Better"

What's the difference in "religion" and "faith" since you seem to be such an expert? I rather doubt that you're anything like me if you think I'm like the people who flew planes into the twin towers killing thousands.
BTW, my thousands and thousands of tax dollars over too many years have helped fund the so-called education in this country. I don't appreciate the school system spending my money on teaching children about "fisting". So, I have a hard time getting upset about these same children reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance" which includes "Under God" which by the way they are NOT required to say.

I vote for Breaking. It's news. I wonder why she hasn't come out with this before now, though. Sounds to me like an attempt to rehabilitate the image (and career!) of Newdow, which probably took a nosedive on his principles.

Does he really have legal standing for filing the suit? A better question: Was the suit filed fraudulently?

Newdow needs an enema!!!!!!!!!!! 'nuff said!
Let's take the sweetheart, Newdow out into a water-polo zone and see if he could stay afloat in this venue, or any venue!!!! There is a word in the Thesaurus that refers to New-Pussy.......
VACUOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is just a guy with no balls. Oh, am I being too harsh?

I am certainly not well read in any book of any religion, but that quote would seem to be as off-putting as "The Chosen People". You are right. Actually I missed one more quote where Christians are defined as the Chosen people: "you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God" (I Peter 2:9).
I would suggest that you read the Bible. (I should too!)
I think all good people, regardless of political, religious, or ideological differences are horrified by the terrorist attacks.

Tish B'Av? What is that, and why tennis shoes?
To: MarkL
So, in today USA, a guy can wear an old leather shoes with holes in its sole rather than a brand new $100 Nike tenis shoes?
Honestly, what are we in the year 2004 doing with this old nonsense? Fasting, and praying is OK, but wearing expensive or leather shoes does not make sense.
