Michael Newdow is NOT an athiest...
FOX NEWS (Fox & Friends per Fox News Rita Cosby) | 07/15/02 | Me

Newdow is NOT an athiest. He is a PRACTICING Jew according to his child's mother per ED on Fox & Friends according to Rita Cosby's report interviewing Newdow's daughter's mother(they have never been married). He has always been "interested" in contitutional law is the reason given for taking this to court. Isn't THAT SPECIAL?!

It is to me! I just heard it. Do you have a problem with that? It means a great deal to me, maybe it doesn't mean that much to you.

I vote for Breaking. It's news. I wonder why she hasn't come out with this before now, though.

Like E.D said on FOX this morning.....It shows that the "Majority Rules" standard does not apply in America. The courts need to take a long hard look and see that America wants these words to stay and a minority group of Atheists(sp?) should not be able to change that. If they are uncomfotable with the words "under God" then they can get the hell out of the country. After all that is their God giving American right.

Because she thought everyone was angry at her daughter for being an atheist. Can you imagine most of the country hating your child for something she didn't do? She has just now gotten an attorney to file a brief on her and daughter's behalf. They are both of the Christian faith.

When their daughter found out about the decision she told her mother that she would say the pledge with UNDER GOD silent so she wouldn't be breaking the law. SAD!

How sad is this for the child?! She thought she would be breaking the law if she said "UNDER GOD" outloud.

He celebrates all the Jewish holy days

The same thing was said about Joe LOSERman, then he was "outed" when he got caught eating on Tisha B'Av (a fast day).

Since Tisha B'Av is this Thursday, let's see if Mr. Newdow wears tennis shoes and abstains from food and drink. My guess is that he has never heard of Tisha B'Av.

Would the phrase "under God" be offensive to a practicing Jew? Would it interfere with the right the Ninth Circuit said he has to determine the religious upbringing of his daughter?

I saw the interview last night. She has sole legal custody, they were never married, and the kid is a Christian. Does he really have legal standing for filing the suit?

Doesn't matter in the least bit - what doomed his case at the appeals level is the announcement by the mother that both her and her daughter are practicing Christians and specifically that his daughter is not harmed by reciting "under God" in the pledge.

The mother has stated her daughter not only recites the pledge willingly she also was upset at the prospect of having the pledge removed. In the fathers suit, he claimed his daughter was harmed by being "forced" to listen to the pledge in school - now that there appears to be no such harm, the suit has no merit and must be thrown out.

Don't get too excited though, i'm positive there is an atheist waiting in the wings with a brainwashed 7 year old who will claim to be harmed by the phrase.

I have NO idea that's why I'm asking. All I seem to be getting is an attitude from some. I would really like to know the answer. Anyone care to give us a real answer?

Thank you for your answer. I appreciate it. I'm sure you're also right about some nut waiting to take up the cause.
