May I ask a stupid question? Why does someone wear tennis shoes on Thursday. I know about the fasting but I didn't know about that. I'm just curious not meaning anything rude with the question.

Not a stupid question at all... Tisha B'Av (10th day of the month "Av" in the Jewish Calendar) is the commemeration of the day that the Holy Temple was destroyed. It's a day of mourning and fasting. The idea of "tennis shoes" doesn't relate well in the world of $100 Nike and Rebock "tennis shoes." In ancient days, leather shoes were considered a luxury and "dressing up for an important occastion." The shoes refered to here are like the old keds or converse canvas shoes, cheap, with no leather. Since it's a day of mourning, you're not supposed to get "dressed up" or be conserned with how you look.

"Breaking news?"

You are starting to sound "politically correct" in passing judgement on posts.

Hey, it's breaking news to me. If you've already heard it, then goodie for you, but I have no problem with how a post is labeled.

All of it you loser, but to be specific, this is your prejudiced sentence:

". . . responsible for the destruction of the fiber of this country? Well, it's not the Arabs. It's "The Chosen People".

Yeah, I think that qualifies as being prejudiced against all Jews (or Chosen People, as you call them). Blaming them for destruction of the fiber of this country. You are an anti-semite. Deal with it.

Tell me ONE WORD ore ONE SENTENCE that is not true.

Ooo, I'll play! Here:

It is apparently so odd that the same wonderful man that I knew, Jonas Salk ( the polio vaccine at my Univ. of Pittsburgh)

Jonas Salk is not a polio vaccine at your Univerity of Pittsburgh.

I checked a few of your other posts and they're equally incoherent.

It shows that the "Majority Rules" standard does not apply in America.

Thank goodness for that, at least when it comes to our inalienable rights. A line from Exodus strikes me as appropriate here: "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil."

Would it interfere with the right the Ninth Circuit said he has to determine the religious upbringing of his daughter?

The girl's mother has sole custody. She decides on the religious upbringing of the child.

THAT is my theory too....that Newdow is actually using the courts to attack his Christian former-whatever. (child's mother)
That this man is SO self-serving that he would use an 8 year old girl as a weapon of revenge.
I beleive Newdow is nuts. He is inconsistant, not very bright (for a double degree professional)...and seems to be a squirming________________.
He's is lying about why he filed the lawsuit.
It's an attack against the mother of the child that's all.
The mother, as a Christian, knows what she is dealing with.
Just your run of the mill "evil-doer"!

Who do you think we should "book"

While we're discussing wacko applications of "political correctness" I'd love to see FoxNews interview some of our national leaders who decided NOT to enforce the usual health regulations when AIDS became a national problem a few decades ago.

Prior regulations stated that sexual contacts of people with newly diagnosed sexually transmitted diseases had to be notified that they had been exposed to that disease.

Which people decided that sexual partners of HIV positive patients did not need to be notified?

Thousands of lives might have been saved if the commonly used notification procedure had been followed.

The mother had not been interviewed before but information came out last week that the child lived with her mother and that they attended a non-demominational Christian church regularly and that the child says the pledge voluntarily at school.

I don't know what religion he believes or doesn't believe, he apparently is a big liar.

Remember he earlier did the same thing in Florida. I believe it was before the kid was even in school. Was she even with him in Florida?

The Atheist who brought suit against the Pledge of Allegiance in the classroom claiming the words “Under God” alienates his daughter, has in fact attempted to alienate his daughter from her Christian Community. His irresponsible lawsuit has more potential harm towards his daughter then the words “Under God” ever caused her.

He brought the suit under false pretences and should be responsible for all legal fees associated with this case and face jail time.

He should also be investigated for child abuse, it is clear to me he has abused his daughter by using her as a Political Football. It is obvious now he has abused his relationship with his daughter.

My guess is he made his money by screwing up in the ER and then sued the hospital on behalf of the injured party.

i'm positive there is an atheist waiting in the wings with a brainwashed ...

There was a guy in the Chicago area who was on a similar campaign. He was responsible for having the Nativity scene removed from the city hall in his town, didn't want IN GOD WE TRUST on our currency, etc. He also claimed psychological damage to his child.

Mr. Newdow has done us a great service in a backhanded kind of way.
He has brought the problems associated with liberal activist judges to the public's attention. Perhaps we'll get some decent, Constitution abiding, judges appointed now that the general public sees the effect of not doing so.

More disturbing, though, is the way they reversed themselves due to public opinion. It just shows how these bastions of integrity are easily swayed by the whims of the public. This subtle point will be lost on the general sheep though.

The man-Newdow -has had his 15 minutes of fame--which was his main goal. He had his mug on more TV shows than Allan Ginsburg (M. Lewinsky's lawyer).

The judges of the 9th Circuit Court make the term "kangaroo court" sound like a compliment.
