Are there any stats on the results of Amber alerts? Anecdotally all I remember are false alarms, domestic disputes, mistakes. There's a danger of a cry wolf effect.

I have no idea about other states but I know in the area of Texas I live in there have been several Amber Alerts over the past few years and they have been extremely successful. You have too keep in mind that the circumstances have to meet certain criteria for the Amber Alert to go into effect and it's like an APB on the airwaves (radio and tv). In the cases I remember recently the children were found in a matter of hours. You can key in Amber Alert in any search engine and read the results.
