Pope Pius XII opposed the creation of a Jewish state in it's biblical homeland goven to them by God. Even after the horrors of the Jewish Holocaust, Pius strongly opposed the creation of the state of Israel.
Here is the link to prove it.>>>>>>> http://www.angelfire.com/ky/dodone/Pius.html
He also knowingly and willingly signed his name on the dotted line next to Adolph Hitler's name on their concordat. (Did Pius pray to God for guidance before doing that?)
No amount of spin will ever overcome the historical damnation of Pius the twelfth.

Why?Well, Aliska, I certainly have my theories as to why the Vatican appears to hate Israel. When you look from The Inquisition, to their coziness with Hitler during the Holocaust, to their opposition to the creation of national Israel after the Holocaust, to TODAY -- where the Vatican sides with Arafat and the Palestinians over God's people Israel, I see a clear, unrelenting and undeniable pattern of anti-semitism coming from the Vatican.
As to motive, my thoughts are too controversial for this forum.

i'm eating a cold pork chop and it's time to quit for the night. maybe it doesn't have anything to do with anti-semitism. maybe it was premature. it sure complicated things in the middle east. maybe we should have given them connecticut.
i need to further research this topic.
i'm not a big apologist for pius x was it? he had to walk on eggs much like gwb has to today. it's pragmatism, not necessarily anti-semitism.

Cold pork chops before bedtime can't be good for you, can it? :-) You might have nightmares of Janet Reno dancing with Rosie O'Donell, or something equally scary!

You claim that the Vatican hates Israel. Part of your proof posted on this thread is the concordat signed with Germany. You should be aware the Vatican also has signed agreements with Israel. It is hardly unusual. In any case, you are full of it.

I agree with you patent. I don't know what your beef with the Vatican is berned, but the Catholic Church was persecuted by Nazi Germany, since it resisted attempts by Hitler's henchmen to "Nazify" it, along with other German churches. Millions of Catholic Poles were butchered too. I saw a book titled "The Persecution of the Catholic Church in the Third Reich" on the Conservative Book Club's website. The headline for their advertisement was "THE BIG LIE: Two popes were "silent" about the evils of Nazism." Here's the CBC's description of the book:
In just the past few years, half a dozen books, all from major publishers, have claimed that the wartime popes, Vatican officials, and the German hierarchy were all "silent" about, even complicit in, the crimes of Nazism. But this astonishing book, published in 1941, at the height of Nazi tyranny, proves beyond doubt that the Church condemned Hitler and his ideology loudly, repeatedly, and from the very beginning of his rise to power.
Compiled by a highly-placed (and necessarily anonymous) German Catholic and translated into English, the book documents through 575 pages the Nazi government's persecution of the Catholic Church in Germany, and the response from Church officials:
- Part One details the charges made by the Pope and the Vatican against the Nazi persecution, offering exact quotations from the pastorals and other statements of the German Bishops
- Part Two documents the appalling persecution of the Church by the Third Reich. It also recounts the show trials on trumped-up charges of "immorality" and financial crimes
- Part Three offers evidence of the declared hostility of Nazism against the Catholic Church, and the determination of the Nazi ideologists to drive Catholicism out of Germany
- REPRINTED IN FULL: Pius XI's encyclical denouncing Nazism, Mit brennender Sorge -- written in German (not Latin) and read from German pulpits. PLUS: The Nazis brutal response
- Appendix: The full text of the Concordat between the Third Reich and Holy See (violated by the Nazis in every particular)
- PLUS: 16 editorial "cartoons" capturing the virulence and and vulgarity of the Nazi anti-Catholic campaign
"Here are the writings and speeches of the Pope and the German Hierarchy, the official decrees and instructions of the Government, and the speeches and teachings of the [Nazi] Party. The cumulative weight of this testimony is sufficient to establish the German persecution as the worst, because it is the most efficient, of modern times." -- The Commonweal (1941)
- "Hitler's Pope"? Then why the unrelenting Nazi campaign of vilification against Pius XII -- evidenced here in speeches, articles, official statements, and cartoons
- Did the Vatican "favor" the Nazis, as a bulwark against Communism? The 1936 papal statement disproving that canard
- Were the German bishops cowardly? Sympathetic to Hitler? Overwhelming evidence that they condemned Nazi lies even before Hitler came to full power
- German bishops denounce, in a 1938 joint pastoral, the Nazi "racial and 'blood' theories"
- Nazis react to Church condemnation of their racial ideology
- The popular Catholic uproar that greeted -- and temporarily halted -- government efforts to remove crucifixes from schools
- 1936: Hitler's SS uses force to break up a public profession of Faith by a crowd of Catholics in Munster -- but fail! Other dramatic showdowns between Catholics and Nazis
- Case after heartbreaking case: violent assaults and terror against Catholic clergy and laity -- including children
- The use of slanders and "immorality" trials to defame the clergy and undermine Church authority. Numerous examples from speeches, news articles, posters, songs, plays and films
- The myth of the "Christian" roots of Nazism -- exploded by the explicitly anti-Christian writings of its leading exponents
- The "new morality" promoted by Nazism: astonishingly like that of today's neo-pagans and secularists
- Nazism as a substitute religion: how it supplanted Christian ceremonies, rituals, symbols and even prayers with its own
- Seizing and plundering of Church property and goods, on trumped-up charges
- Eyewitness account: American student tells how the Gestapo stormed, and shut down, a Jesuit seminary
- How the Nazis manipulated financial and property regulations to make life economically impossible for loyal Catholic clergy
- Shocking cases: The use of young people "seeking spiritual advice," and phony confessions, to betray priests
- The "campaign of destruction" against Catholic education and the rights of Catholic parents over their children
- How the Nazis manipulated "democracy" to shut down Catholic schools, and separate the faithful from their shepherds
- The "systemic warfare" conducted against the administration and reception of sacraments, attendance at religious services, and even against the mere fact of Church membership
"Complete and devastating ... The facts are authentic and incontrovertible. The documents are likewise authentic and thoroughly substantiated. ... To anyone who thinks there is no persecution of the Catholic Church in Germany, we recommend this volume." --
America (1941)

The entire historical record indicates that Pius XII was the greatest friend the Jews of Europe had, throughout the years of the Nazi madness. There is
nothing, not one scrap of documentary evidence, to indicate that Pius ever did or said anything in favor of the Nazi regime or against the Jewish people -- and the Pius-haters consistenly fail to confront the mountainous records about Pius's very high-risk labors to protect and preserve Jewish lives.
As the head of the Catholic Church and the potentate of a tiny country surrounded by a Nazi ally, Pius would have had very good reasons for doing nothing and saying nothing to help the Jews in their extremity. But he put himself, the Vatican, and the whole of European Catholicism on the line for God's Chosen People, the lineage from which Christ Himself sprang. And millions of American Catholics went to war against the Nazis because Pius told them, through their pastors, that it was their duty as men of decency and honor.
If there was ever a saint among men, a giant of compassion and courage under the most extraordinary conditions of hazard, it was Eugenio Pacelli, Pope Pius XII. He is one of the biggest reasons I am a Catholic, and proud to be one. They who attempt to besmirch his legacy are villains without a scrap of decency to their names.

Unfortunately there are those who are ever ready to assume the worst when it comes to the Roman Catholic church and anyone connected to it. Fortunately for all reasonable people they get their theology from Chick comics.
As I've said before, it's amazing that the Christian Church is still around, after we've spent the last 2,000 years doing darn near everyting in our power to destroy it.
It almost makes a person think that we're NOT the ones in charge.

berned is among the better-known disruptors on this forum, especially to Catholic threads. He's been shown to be dishonest and misleading by patent and Campion, among others, but he continues to trot out the same old tired stuff, hoping to catch someone new to his swill unawares.
