Let our people go

Posted: 07/23/02
The other day, Best of the Web had an item about Saudi Arabia not allowing US citizens to leave the country, even though many of them were kidnapped and taken there. This has been a well covered story and Best of the Web links to some previous Opinion Journal items. Instapundit previously linked to this item and noted that there is a planned protest for Thursday outside the Saudi Embassy.

That's all fine and good, but how many of us can get to Washington to picket?

Look, the Saudis need to hear our voices -- all of our voices. The American people are fed up with Saudi arrogance in telling our citizens, who have committed no crimes, how they will live their lives.

Here is the Saudi e-mail address: info@saudiembassy.net . A simple message with a link to the Best of the Web item is all that's needed.

And some phone calls to the Embassy might be in order, as well: (202) 337-4076 or (202) 337-4134.

Let's make our voices heard. Let's send a simple but clear message: "Let our people go." Let's not be nasty or mean or argumentative. Just a clear simple message that the Saudi government is not making friends with the American people by holding our citizens against their will.

I don't think tyrants listen to words. They listen to guns.

These particular tyrants are feeling the heat of Americans disgust with the fact that so many of the 9-11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia. They've been spending a lot of money advertising in America trying to clean up their reputation. They need to hear from us that we are sick of them holding Americans prisoner in their country.

If the Saudis were not concerned about American public opinion they would not have hired an American firm to fashion a multi-million dollar public-relations campaign.

Believe me, they care.

They even approached the State Department about returning two of the kidnapped young women to America but State blew them off.

link?

I didn't download the source document or record the link.

It may have been on NRO, either in 'The Corner' or in one of Joel Mowbray's articles, but wherever it was it was on a reputable Web site.

The best way to sound off to Saudis is to get that oil contract up and running with both Mexico and Russia and cut them off where it counts: in their royal wallets!~

We should have invaded Saudi Arabia and taken back our oil wells a long time ago...

LOL. Or to paraphrase Ronald Reagan, "There are no Saudi oil wells, there are American oil wells in Saudi Arabia".

Islamism is incompatible with western civilization, and the Saudis have for too long been islamism's greatest underwriter. Next to China (communism which encourages islamism and the international left), the House of Saud despises us, and is likely our greatest national enemy.

I'm not surprised the State Department blew off the Saudi offer to release two Americans kidnapped to their country. State has to be one of the most corrupt bureaucracies in the federal government, manned by pin-heads.

They'd listen better to our not purchasing their oil. Boycott all oil companies that use Saudi Oil and see what happens.

"I don't think tyrants listen to words. They listen to guns."

Slight correction offered...
Don't attempt to "talk" with a gun....
The guns come into play - when talk proves fruitless.
Tyrants and Terrorists - read - Declared Enemies, should simply be destroyed ---- quickly, and by any means necessary...
Radical Muslims have long ago proven they are not interested in negotiated accomodations --- they demand domination over all..

The world must resolve to kill these bastards - and get on with the expansion and impovement of civilization.
