It was Wilsons fault mainly. Wilson was a communist he insisted on deposing the Hohenzollrens and Hapsburgs if they were left in place the Nazis never would have risen.

Actually, the Hapsburgs were going to collapse sooner rather than later (it's why they opted for war in the first place--it seemed the least risky way to deal with the impending crisis). The Hohenzollerns had only one problem, and that was the fact that the words "impulse control" meant absolutely zip to Kaiser Billy Deuce.
