the commentary of the Voice of Judea, July 8, 2002:

A perplexed Schlesinger, a former chairman of the Israeli branch of Amnesty International, must be sitting in her library saying, 'But I was pro-Arab and took the side of the most extreme Arab elements against Israel, why would they do this to me? I am their friend.' Schlesinger is learning the painful lessen of history. They hate us because we are. All of the guilt ridden self-hating assimilationists who blame the Jew for anti-Semitism suddenly learn that the assimilationists burn together with the proud Jews. Hitler made no distinction between the Jews with beards and payot of Poland and the 'enlightened' assimilated clean-shaven Jews of Hamburg.

The Talmud teaches us in Misechet Taanit, that those Jews who turn their backs on fellow Jews and do not feel their pain during rough times, will not be permitted to rejoice with the House of Israel during the times of victory. Indeed, the self-haters lose out of both worlds. It is not like they are spared when the hatchet seeks the Jewish scalp. At the same time, they cut themselves off from the glorious destiny promised to the Jews. Indeed, 'Netzach Yisrael Lo Yishaker' - Jewish destiny will not fail or lie. Make no mistakes. In the end the Jews will win, in spite of themselves. Those that remain loyal to G-d and to their fellow Jews, will rejoice in this world and in the world to come and they shall be rewarded for their faith and their loyalty. And as the Holocaust Partisan's fighter song ends, 'Veem Halilah Yiacher Lavoh Haor - Kmo Sismah Yehei Hasheer MeDor LeDor' - And if G-d forbid the light shines late - Like a password the song shall be passed on to the next generation.

So many Jews thought they could save their own skin by running away, assimilating and even aiding the enemy. In the end, they fall prey to their very fears. While the strong Jews of faith and courage, even if they fall, stand as living inspiration forever. This is why we all remember the last fighting words of Rabbi Akivah and the Maccabbees, just as we study the last words of Joseph Trumpeldor and the Warsaw Ghetto fighters. Who remembers the majority of Jews who turned their backs on their people and on their heritage?

Only a handful of Israeli academics supported the boycott. One of them, Dr. Ilan Pappe of Haifa University

Guess Pappe thought he had nothing to lose. He is being forced out too. Live by PC, get fired by PC. Maybe they will all boycott and fire each other and there will be no lefties in academia.
