Democrookery

Please contact your Representative and Senator in Washington D.C. and urge them to quit standing by idly. The GOP is being too weak-kneed and they are missing a lot of golden opportunities.

The New York Times has reported that Citigroup, where Rubin now is chairman of the executive committee, allegedly disguised loans it made to Enron as "commodity prepayments" to boost company earnings and keep shareholders from losing confidence. Citigroup reportedly was Enron's largest lender, and Rubin's phone calls could be "the real smoking gun in the Enron scandal," Foley says.

Whenever the dems start spouting off about the pubbies, you know they (the dems)are covering up their even more corrupt butts..

I think Democrats think everybody is crooked because most of them are.

To them, everything is "love or war."

"....without finding some rehashed "revelation" from more than a decade ago..." - about his daddy's total inability to take out Sadam - maybe #41 just forgot why we were there.

This article didn't go where I expected it to go. After starting out with the lines:
It's hard to turn on the television or read the newspaper without finding some rehashed "revelation" from more than a decade ago about President George W. Bush at Harken Energy or the so-called accounting scandal at Halliburton Corp. The liberal media and congressional Democrats say they're just trying to see how Bush's words on corporate accountability square with what they imagine to have been his past actions and those of former corporate executives in his administration. "

I expected to see a series of Democrat quotes regarding Rubin, Clinton, Corzine, Torrecelli, Lieberman, Daschle, et. al., scandals along the lines of "I don't think we should be looking back at the past. I think we should be focused on what we're going to do now." After all, that is the double standard, isn't it? Dwelling on Bush's past while imploring us to not look at the Democrats' past?

The Repubs should be begging for an investigation into Enron. They should be demanding it from the rooftops.

A full, objective investigation into Enron would have several key Demo's in handcuffs, including maybe an ex-president. It was the Democratic party that carried the water for Enron over the last decade, and there is nothing they can do to hide it, if the Repubs will just get off their backs and start talking about it.

The press is never going to do our job for us. If we are waiting for some crack investigative reporter to do it, we will lose. The reporters know. Their bosses know. They don't care.
