"Forced to mingle with Jew students"
The Media Line also points to a flier that was being circulated at Florida Atlantic University a few weeks ago. It was supposedly published by group calling itself the "Islamic-Arab Students Defense Committee," and it seems they have a problem:
When we Arab-Muslim students came to America for study, we had no idea that we would be forced to mingle with Jew students and take instruction from Jew teachers. This is offensive to us since it is well known that the Jews are the most corrupt and violent people on Earth. We live in constant fear because of the threats of violence made by these Jews against Arab students. Because we want to help build an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, devoid of confrontation and conflict, we are asking the FAU administration to:
1. Separate Jew students from Muslim students. Jews should be taught only by Jew professors and instructors. Muslim students should not be forced to take education from Jews.
2. Require Jew students to wear some sort of identifiction so Muslim students can avoid them socially. Indicate Jew professors in the university course listings.
There are more helpful suggestions, but you get the idea.
The University says the flier is a hoax, that there is no such organization on campus and that the Muslim Students Organization is "disgusted" by the message. The University believes that publicizing the flier only plays into the hands of hate mongers, and they've asked The Media Line to remove it from their website (which so far hasn't happened). The Anti-Defamation League agrees.
Should this turn out to be an actual hoax, I'll remove it from this site, as well. For now, though, I have my doubts. Someone did distribute this on campus even if it was not, as it would appear, a university organization. In the meantime, the reason for the lack of any public denunciation of the flier by either the University or the Muslim Students Organization is obviously their desire to, um, yeah, avoid playing into the hands of hate mongers by giving them publicity. Right.

I keep repeating, but it doesn't work....("Islam is a religion of peace, Islam is a religion of peace, Islam is a religion of peace...)How long before we stop letting these folks come to our schools?
Oh, and by the way - here's the flyer:

Jail the f**ers. Or better still, deport. The plane can just take them a few miles out and drop them, a swim among the sharks would do them good.

here's an idea: "go back where you belong" oh yeah, forgot, you have already ruined that place (even though you inherited most of the worlds oil). now you want to ruin ours. we were doing quite well without you.
either that or " be like everyone else before you and adapt to our culture because it is better than yours, or get the hell out"

A yellow Star of David would serve purposes of identifying Jews nicely. Some old stock of this material may be available from mail order companies in Europe. In the case of Christian children, little T-shirts with targets embossed on them can be provided.
I am so glad that sensitive, well-intentioned individuals such as yourselves came to study in this great country.

While probably/certainly a hoax, the frightening part of this is that, before 9/11a group of Muslim students who had lodged such a complaint against Christians at almost any flaming leftist, ultra left wing extremist university in the US would have gotten a very sympathetic ear, at worst an open debate or some basic accomodation. The 9/11 and Jewish aspect ring the hoax alarm bells.

This title and the language in the article is offensive to me. It would have been bad enough if the author had said they didn't want to be placed in classes with "Jewish" students. But the use of the term "Jew Students" isn't kosher in my book.

This title and the language in the article is offensive to me.My deepest apologies - I just copied the article verbatim (other than the "Arab student flyer at FAU" additional text in the title).

My money is on hoax. The demands and rhetoric sound more like the Klan than muslims who, whatever their opinion of Jews, would know how absurd such demands would be. Moreover, muslim propagandists of any competence usually use the term Zionist to convey the impression that they don't condemn all Jews. The repeated use of the term "Jew" (you can practically hear the two-syllable pronunciation) suggests a more home-grown bigotry.

This reminds me of something very interesting that happened a few years ago when I went back to school. I was in an English Comp. II class, and we all had to write a report and read it. One girl wrote her report on why Israel should belong to the Jews, which included a short history of the area. There were a few Arab-looking guys in the class, and as that girl read her report, the Arab guys' eyes burned like flaming coals just glaring at her as she read, while sitting with very billigerent body language. After she was done, a couple of them got up and started screaming and ranting; it was one of the craziest things I ever saw occur in a class. Those guys were real hot-heads. Then, this really cute girl around 20 who was Jewish, came up and asked me, "I wonder why some people hate Jewish people so much?" She sort of had doe eyes and such a sweet face. She's probably learned a good bit about that issue by now. This article reminded me of that. I still think of it every now and then because it was so wierd, and showed me an example of just how much the Arabs appear to hate the Jews, even in Houston, Texas.

Would someone PLEASE tell me where the "right not be offended" is granted! This is just one instance out of many where someone demands that the actions of the "other guy" should cease because it offends that person. The Islamic religion, and all that it stands for, offends me, but I will be the last person to demand that it cease any and all activities in public because of that. Sodomites walking in a parade down 5th Avenue in New York, fawning all over each, offends me too, but our Constitution gaurantees them the right to do that. Why should we have to cease doing what we do because it offends someone else?

It may be a hoax...but somebody wrote it. It reflects the thinking of someone. That is what is offensive to me.
To: mhking
If the arabs don't like it,GET OUT!This is one American who doesn't want them here at all.

Guess what? I am posting this reply right now from the computer room at......FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY!!!

The southern gentleman in me says, "Wait until it gets dark, then corner these rogues out behind the Student Union and beat them stupid."
I don't care if they're Arabs, Samoans, or Eskimos. Nobody treats a woman like that in public around me. I'm glad I wasn't in that class...
