The Blood Transfusion Service publicly committed itself to telling the group of 28 as quickly as possible, but seven weeks later they still have not been informed. A spokeswoman for the blood bank declined to comment on tonight's meeting only to say that a meeting with Hepatitis C support groups was scheduled for some time next week. The Minister for Health is still considering how to investigate this issue. The BTS proposed that a judicial inquiry examines the matter but Transfusion Positive say that only a Tribunal of Inquiry will suffice. One of the people who was not informed, known only as "Donor L", is suing the State and his case is due to get underway this Autumn. Man wins right to appeal Hep C award Meanwhile a High Court ruling could mean the State will have to pay out millions of euro in additional compensation to people infected with Hepatitis C. A man who accepted an award of £125,000 from the Hepatitis C Compensation Tribunal has won leave to appeal it to the Court. The Irish Haemophilia Society has called on the Minister for Health, Micheal Martin, not to appeal the High Court ruling. A spokesman for the Minister said the judgement of Mr Justice Iarflaith O'Neill would need to be considered in full before any decision is made concerning a Supreme Court appeal. The cost of the Hepatitis C disaster is already considerable. More than 15,000 people have gone to the Compensation Tribunal and received awards amounting to nearly 300 million. Nearly 200 people appealed to the High Court, and the awards were increased by 45 million. Lawyers are now assessing if the remaining 1, 300 people could go to the High Court and what the cost might be to the exchequer. Hepatitis C support groups like Transfusion Positive have welcomed today's ruling.

I do not believe they could have done it without the constant promoting, lying, spinning, and covering-up done by the media- but help they had, and we had an eight-year nightmare of corruption and serial frauds committed against the nation.
Some day, I fear more of "the bill for Bill" will come due-- I just hope it isn't a North Korean nuke landing on one of our cities.
Dare we hope?
1- a big bombshell goes off that blows away the press's reluctance to say anything bad about the clintons criminal reign, and they finally start talking about all this stuff, thus creating a demand for more stories by the public. Which leads to more stories- and God knows there are enough of them- Blood Trail, Waco, OKC, 911, Ron Brown, Vince Foster, TWA800- it's a smorgasboard of shames and scandals.
2- the "drip, drip, drip" scenario-- one drop at a time, water wears away the hardest rock... if these stories keep leaking, like they have, there may never be a great revelation, but most people will know- much as they have with the JFK "Camelot" myth- that they were fed a pack of lies.
I gotta run & fetch my wife early, neighbor- back ASAP!
