Yes, but I do not believe that it is the religion which is evil, but the people behind it.

Past? Envy me? Hehe...do you mean to pat me on the head for the poor simpleton that I am? :-)

I am merely remarking what I have observed in the era of the last generation, id est, that I have not witnessed nor heard of any Sunday screed calling for the destruction of the followers of a given religion, nor have I known of any recent genocidal cant save that of the Nazis (and their ilk) of the early 20th Century.

My view of the Imams' prayers is that we haven't seen such bile in recent history except from the mouths of primitives and the deluded. Does this square with your view of matters?

prayed to God to help them defeat their enemies? This is nothing new.

But... but... but...

These people keep telling us that they are not our enemies.

I can't even remember the US ever attacking any of the countries where these sermons were delivered... Wait. Are they muslim?

I agree with the recent history thing, and I apologize if I sounded condescending. I believe Gen. Patton prayed for the destruction of his enemies, as did Grant, Lee, Joan of Arc, many of the Puritan religious leaders, and probably many more throughout history.

First you have to decide whether you are for or against us. If you are for us, my statements are obviously true.

Yours reek of hell and Satanism.

I didn't know that we were at war with Yemen and Saudi Arabia...

The fact is that Yemen, Saudi Arabia and all Arab countries are Moslems. Moslems are at war with all non-moslems. Moslems want to kill non-Moslems, i.e., Christians, Jews, Buddists, etc. Therefore, we are at war with Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

I see absolutely nothing redeeming about this warlike violent oppressive totalitarian religion cult that seeks to kill all non-muslims and impose their ridiculous 7th century arabian culture on 21st centure societies.

Well put, I would change religion to cult though!

How about the football players wanting God to help them against the rival team?

"I don't study any texts because my beliefs are just as valid as those of anyone."

I did not accuse you of not having valid thoughts...nor would I accuse my 3 year old nephew of not having valid thoughts.

I said you are "incompetent"...and your admission to not studying the texts proves that out.

In matters of religion you are as a matter of fact "incompetent".

Obviously, you would agree.

Agreed, in matters of organised religions I am incompetent. In matters of religion, defined as; 'Belief in, and reverence for, a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe', I am as competent as anyone.

What makes you think I am an atheist? How can religion be anything other than man-made?

Simple, if a Creator/God truly exists, then it follows that there must be true religion - the one that has the correct view about who the Creator is. The fact that you do not even allow for the possibility tells me that you are atheistic in your beliefs and have not given this any critical thought. Your mind is made up, so I won't try to confuse you with any more logic or facts.

stuartcr, this must relate to something you have posted in the past that these folks have the redass at. I saw nothing "incompetent" about those statements. On the contrary, VaB... has made such assinine statements in the past that I ignore him/her. You should do the same. These people aren't here to learn, to listen, or even to have a decent discussion: they come to verbally masturbate.

"Agreed, in matters of organised religions I am incompetent."

Then your initial comments are to be thrown out as either erronious assertions or rediculous speculation.

I havent read the rest.

And if you are incompetent of matters of religion then by default you cannot interject a "thought" and expect it to be given equal consideration when discussing the ramblings of radical islamists.

You are by definition...

"Out of your league".

"stuartcr, this must relate to something you have posted in the past that these folks have the redass at. I saw nothing "incompetent" about those statements."

An arrogant statement. Especially considering that stuart admitted he/she was "incompetent" concerning the different religions.

Whether you choose to acknowledge what is readily apparent is your concern but it does not affect whether or not stuart is incompetent.

Oi....tedious...

Surely it must be dawning on the tiny minority of Muslims that are capable of primate cognition that their 'god' is a pretty dinky diety. Great opportunity for Christian evangelism.

Forsake this false deity oh Moslem people. It is no god at all. Surely it is plain to see that the Christian God is the True God. God of Abraham, Isac and Jacob. The Great I Am.

I think you're seriously misunderstanding what I wrote. The point is that Satan tries to impersonate God all the time. Do you disagree with that?

Do you just look in the thesaurus looking for defamatory adjectives? Do you know what they mean? Arrogant? A lot of defamatory adjectives could be applied, but arrogant isn't one of them. As I said, his statements weren't offensive--but you were obviously looking to take offense. If you don't like them, why don't you ignore them, just as most rational people ignore you.

You get the last word, so go to the thesaurus. I can't believe I replied to your disruptive pap once, and won't again.

It is not possible to have any religious faith without one a-priori assumption. Likewise it is not possible to believe there is no God with out the converse assumption.

There IS a God vs. there is NO God.

Each is equally unprovable.

And so each must make his choice. I chose to think there IS a God and after study the only one that makes sense is the God of the Bible.

If I'm wrong about there being a God it won't matter for I'll be non existent ... on any plain. If I've chosen the wrong deity I'll still have made the proper choice because all other gods I've looked into aren't worth my worship.

If you are wrong ... you're gonna be really sorry.

Yes, but The "Allah" of Islam is a false god originating from the pre-islamic arabian culture wherein there were 360 deities (sun, moon, stars). Allah was originally known as "Al-Ilah" and praying toward Mecca, pilgrimages to the Kabah, etc.

They call what they worship "God" (in their own language). "Allah" means "God" or if you prefer "god". Are they really worshipping God? I would say not. But that's what the word "Allah" means, cognate with the Hebrew "Eli".

Islam is patterned on a sort of twisted Judaism with a bit of twisted Christianity thrown in. The business of there being only one God didn't come from some pagan moon-cult, even if Islam still has some elements of it.
