Notice the presumption that TEACHERS will be using these comics as the starting-point for discussions. Children MUST be separated from the government's schrools.

I knew about Northstar, but the Beast & Colossus? What issue was that in? No kidding. I read comics for nearly twenty years, and I must have missed that one. Point in fact, the Beast was portrayed as quite a ladies' man, especially during a brief solo run in 'Amazing Adventures". ("The ladies really love the blue fur.")

Most comics are geared for intelligent adults & most of all their geared for adults with money. Well, if by 'intelligent adults' you mean LOSERS, then I would have to agree with you.
I take my son, once in a while, to play Pokemon Trading Cards at a local comic book & game store. I can tell you from first hand experience that the kind of adults into the comic books have a big fat neon L on their foreheads. These people are so dysfunctional.

Mr. Winick said: "The reaction of the negative side is everything that I expected. You always have the same 15 arguments come up. I could've read the letters before we got them." Unlike, of course, the same 15 rationalizations from the gay crowd as to why we all need to discuss this and how their lifestyle is as legitimate as any other.

Like you said the Beast was alway's getting the ladies even with the Blue hair & I alway's thought Colossus had a thing for Shadowcat. I think that there's been an error on that post.

Well, if by 'intelligent adults' you mean LOSERS, then I would have to agree with you......These people are so dysfunctional. I suppose the same could be said of people who enjoy fiction in movies, TV shows and traditional books. I mean, how dysfunctional can you get? What losers......

Too bad we can't have comic book heros who fight for "truth, justice, and the American way" anymore.
I suppose a comic book hero fighting for "freedom, personal responsibility, and the Constitution" is out of the question.
No bias in the comics. No siree. /sarcasm

Disgusting.
More cultural decay.
No wonder why the Mohammedans hate us.

Get thee to eBay and buy vintage comics, like Hot Stuff, Richie Rich, Little Lotta, and the rest. Do the same for television cartoons. Today's fare is pathetic.

Well your entitled to your opinion and quite honestly I have seen a few L's in the Comic Book stores myself. So I can only take up for myself when I tell you that i'm not one of those losers even though I still collect comics. Everybody has their hobbies, but it doesn't make us all losers. That's pretty arrogant to assume that anybody that reads a comic book is a loser.

I suppose a comic book hero fighting for "freedom, personal responsibility, and the Constitution" is out of the question. That USED to be Captain America. Lord only knows what they have done to him nowadays.

Well, I'll definitely be saving $5 in Sept and Oct.

the Green Lantern has an Achilles Heel. The color yellow. Who knew? Hillary a Green Lantern foe!
To: HELLRAISER II
Kirby must be rolling over in his grave. Glad they didn't do this when he was alive.
To: babyface00
Exactly. Why couldn't Terry be "outed" as a conservative Christian? "Yes, Green Lantern, if you must know I wear a cross around my neck".
To: MEGoody
Mr. Schreck and Ron Marz, the book's previous writer, had planned two personal stories. In one, Kyle would face the loss of his mother, echoing the death of Mr. Marz's father. The other would show Terry losing his virginity at the (skilled) hands (and not only hands) of the 'XXX Men'

Point in fact, the Beast was portrayed as quite a ladies' man, especially during a brief solo run in 'Amazing Adventures". ("The ladies really love the blue fur.")I guess the Beast was compensating....
I don't have an issue numbers, but Beast "outed" himself to an old girlfriend in a recent issue of "New X-men" written by British creator Grant Morrison and Colosses was outed in a recent issue of "Ultimate X-men" written by ANOTHER Brit, Mark Millar (the guy who created gay superheroes Apollo and Midnighter, BTW)(and who plans to reveal that brother-sister Mutants Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch "go at it like rabbits" in "the Ultimates")

I agree, but Stan Lee's still at Marvel but I think he's more of figure head than he is as the man in power.

Hal wasn't the only GL. . . there was also Guy Gardner and John Steward. Rayner's only been GL for a few years. DC also pretty much wiped out Oa, the Guardians, and the Green Lantern Corps. The only redeeming features of the "new" ring-slinger are his girlfriend, "Jade" (daughter of Alan Gardner, the "Golden Age" Green Lantern), and that Rayner often works with the "old" GL. . . The gay character, up to now, has been a pretty much background player. A pity they're politicizing the comic. . .
