Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) has received campaign contributions from at least 18 donors who are either officers of Muslim foundations under investigation by the FBI, have voiced support for Palestinian and Lebanese terrorist organizations or have made inflammatory statements about Jews. . . . Most of McKinney's money has come from non-district residents with Muslim or Arab surnames."

Old-fashioned liberals are not widely respected because their failed policies, attempts at class and racial warfare, and generally corrupt worldviews are anathema to anyone with a shred of intelligence.

Congresswoman McKinney is either in the process of being dumped by the dems. as a PR liability or perhaps just being issued a strong warning to shut up and stop making them look so bad. A single Congressman is rarely important enough to be covered for indefinitely. Condit has figured that one out by now.

Is McKinney the same one who gets driven two blocks to work and expects the driver to take her coat off her so she can get into the car? Or is that another democrat Congresswoman?

She can be expected to use "walking around money" to pay ministers and community activists to take her voters to the polls.

She will drain not only the deep reservoir of her own political capital but also that of her father, longtime state legislator Billy McKinney -- collecting on every favor they've ever done for anybody.

She (along with a fair number of machine politicians down here) uses not only "walking-around money" (money paid out to voters, usually senior citizens or the homeless or project dwellers, once they've voted as 'instructed'), but is notorious for picking up folks in vans, trucks, cars, and whatever other mode of transportation you can think, and drives them to the polls with explicit instrctions on how to vote for Cynthia McKinney.

Of course, dollars change hands in exchange for said votes.

If Majette doesn't win, it will primarily be due to a combination of this "walking-around money" that McKinney passes out, along with voter apathy in north DeKalb that will keep a fair number of "fair-weather voters" away from the polls.

GA Secretay of State Cathy Cox is predicting only a 20% voter turnout in next Tuesday's primary.

I knew Cynthia's father Billy McKinney had called Mitnick a "racist Jew." First I've heard of her campaign against him also being homophobic. I wonder what the story is behind that.

Might be worth investigating. I imagine there are quite a few gays around Emory, which is in her district. Their vote may matter in a DemocRATic primary.

He was loudly and broadly criticized, even after he admitted he was just joking.
