Or is it just Comic Relief?

Actually, it ceased being amusing a long time ago. That poor soul is hopelessly ill. (and possibly dangerous)

I only say this because I personally know of two families in central Fl, where the wife/teacher, can hardly read herself, and are just not very both very poor at anything less than remedial level math. I'm sure there are others.

Yes there are others, but they have jobs as public school teachers.

What would be so wrong with a state requiring a home-school teacher/parent to pass some sort of basic literacy/comprehension test?

How about: What would be so wrong with a state requiring a citizen wishing to exercise free speech to pass some sort of basic literacy/comprehension test?

Feel free to add any other right in this sentence.

Just got back from Lubbock! What an memorable trip! The scenery was breathtaking and the exhibit was amazing. They had a total of 31 frescos and also an exhibit from Mexico of religious art/relics. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We also stopped at the Buddy Holly museum on the way out of town.

I even got to finally meet my good friend TejasRose face to face. We've been chatting uh.. 2 years? (Now that I know the road, I'll buy you lunch next time I go up that way again, which I'm sure I will do.)

Hey, Bec!
I'm delighted that we got to finally "meet!" You didn't tell me that you went to the Buddy Holly Museum too.....that's a whole nuther story. My son is an expert on Buddy Holly. Actually, he taught himself to play guitar at age 12 because he was such a Buddy Holly fan! Now....some 14 years later, he is quite an accomplished guitarist and songwriter. :-)

Oh too cool! My oldest is the same way. He's trying to teach himself (I bought him a Buddy Holly pick)
