RALEIGH, N.C. -- Supporters of a referendum on an educational lottery have refocused their campaign on the two or three House members whose votes are needed for the measure to pass.
Petitions containing the names of 7,500 people who want to vote on an education lottery were hand-delivered to Triangle lawmakers on Tuesday.

Gardner, polling Chapel Hill, and Charlotte, where the a lot of the good folks are so rich they wouldn't bother buying a ticket, doesn't count. Get out into the rural counties, you know where native North Carolinians live. I guess they lost those petitions from folks that disagreed with the lottery. Mike Sleazy is going to try to continue to push this through until his last day in office
They played a bit of a press op on the radio news today saying how he's leaning on the "EDUCATION" lottery hold outs in the legislature because we have lost our coveted Double Dog AAA rating or whatever the HE!! it's called.
According to Tax Hike Mike a lottery will go along way in bringing in revenue towards regaining our highly esteemed rating.
Oh, and he also made mention that they had better vote the 1/2 cent sales tax hike through too, or else.
