How about Egypt? There were once a few of those crazies (Ayman al Zawahiri for example, and the goons who killed the German tourists), but those unlucky enough to stay in the country have met most unfortunate ends. The country as a whole is secular and advanced. While anti-Israel sentiment prevails, it is stricly from a pan-Arabist point of view, and not because of any Islamic fundie doctrine.
Bosnia, too, is a great example. The Muslims there are about as observant as your typical French "Catholic" is. The war there in the 1990s had nothing at all to do with religious teachings, and everything to do with ethnicity and power politics.
