Anybody have any details?.....
Killing that dog probably really pissed them off.
Can you move them over to this thread?
Otherwise, you're doing a great job! (/sucking up)
Sorry if this is posted improperly.

From a friend on another forrum:
About an hour ago, our Minneapolis Police Emergency Response Unit (ERU) did a no-knock on a crack house.
They ended-up shooting a pit-bull for some reason, and THEN some stupid kid gets winged in the arm from an officers pistol.
At that time the local news was saying that there were "about 100" very angry locals at the scene.
About 5 minutes ago, the "Local News" said that all police and news agencies WERE PULLING OUT because the angry crowd had grown MUCH bigger.
It is pretty wild...There is a news blackout now and the Police were chased away...
I will post more soon (I hope).

Riot Erupts after Boy Shot by Minneapolis Police; News Crews Trapped at the Scene
Dozens of people shouted at police and broke windows after an 11-year-old Minneapolis boy was injured by a bullet that ricocheted from a police officer's gun. The Minneapolis officer was shooting at a pit bull dog that attacked police who were trying to serve a search warrant on a house suspected of drug activity.
Authorities say the bullet hit concrete and ricocheted into the arm of the boy who wasn't in the line of fire. The boy's injury isn't life-threatening. The incident happened about 7:30 tonight.
NEWS CREWS TRAPPED
A KMSP-TV crew was trapped at the scene in the back of live news truck as an angry mob of about 75 people gathered on the street. People broke the news vehicle's windshield. Bottles and other debris was being thrown about. The reporter, news engineer and photographer got out of the neighborhood and are safe at an undisclosed location.
Reports also say a WCCO Reporter was hit by some flying glass and cut.

Mpls. boy injured in police shooting
Publishing date: 08-22-2002 10:58 PM
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Dozens of people shouted at police officers and broke windows in a city bus and a news van late Thursday, protesting after a 10-year-old boy was injured by a bullet that ricocheted from a police officer's gun.
The officer was shooting at a pit bull dog that had been turned loose on police who were trying to serve a search warrant on a house suspected of narcotics activity. But the bullet hit concrete and ricocheted into the arm of the boy who wasn't in the line of fire, a police spokeswoman said.
The boy's injury wasn't life-threatening and he was being treated at a local hospital, the spokeswoman said.
While the incident happened at 7:30 p.m., tensions grew later as TV news crews arrived to cover the event. Around 75 to 100 people gathered in the north Minneapolis neighborhood and began to shout at police and journalists.
The windows were broken out of one news van and a city bus, the police spokeswoman said. Officers remained on the scene at 10:30, but they hadn't been able to search the house that originally brought them to the neighborhood.
Last week, dozens of people gathered in another north Minneapolis neighborhood to protest when two police officers shot a 19-year-old man who threatened them with a handgun.
Three weeks ago, a Minneapolis police officer was killed in a shootout with a woman who lived in a public housing complex. The niece of the woman had called police after the woman scared neighbors by waving a gun.

What is article does not say is that self appointed community activists have been making hay of this incident for their own self promotion- equating this woman who got killed after killing a police woman as a victim, describing her as a grandmother, describing her death as a tragedy etc...
The Mpls "boy" mayor, Rybeck, has been hanging the police out to dry in order to raise his standing in the "community."

More from my source there:
"Fimally....
Police are blocking off the whole area as every car that drives through there is getting rocks thrown at it.
I just read that KSTP article...The article said "dozens"...bullshit...it was HUNDREDS...
Also,
I would think, in the matter of public safety, that it should be on every channel to tell people to NOT go into the area. It is so fXXXking back-asswards !

Betcha there are no Arab males age 18-40, either (see... racial profiling works -- it's very incident-specific; to paraphrase Johnny Cochrane, "If the profile fits, you got a hit").

Would this be a good time for Dominos and Pizza Hut to quit delivering pizzas to this area? BTW, I spent some vacation time in upstate MN just wandering around. It seemed one the safest places I've ever been to.
