Group of 20 was chosen by White House and Santa Ana mayor.

"Wow!"

That was Templo Calvario Pastor Daniel de Leon's reaction to being asked to join 19 other community leaders and activists for a private meeting with the leader of the free world today at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.

System seems strange at the moment.

Here is a link to info on the 20:

20 who'll get Bush's ear
About half of the local leaders who will meet privately with president are Hispanic.

And a little side note about the lowering of the ticket prices that the media jumped on is here:

Ticket discounts slip through cracks
Although Simon campaign officials said Wednesday that discounted entries to President George W. Bush’s fund-raiser here were only for select party activists, some non-activists slipped through the cracks Thursday and were able to get the $250 tickets to today’s event. The base price for the St. Regis fete in Dana Point is $1,000 per person. However, others seeking cut-rate entry were told they were out of luck – that only volunteers were eligible.
Among those who called and were told they could get the $250 tickets was a Democrat: Fountain Valley attorney Nick Frudakis said he was told he could buy the cheaper tickets, although he later decided not to go.

The Simon camp has said the cheaper tickets are to reward activists. The deadline for buying tickets was Thursday.
