Being a teenager in the 1980's, I've a soft spot for the music in the 'Moulin Rouge' soundtrack.

So that gets my No. 1 vote! :-)

After that, the Boomtown Rats, 'Fine Art of Surfing' *S*

Any of Frank's concept albums from the 50s would be great - I prefer something upbeat like "Come Fly With Me."

Just to throw in a few more cents:

How about the Parker-Gillespie-Mingus-Powell-Roach collaboration, "Jazz at Massey Hall"

or Dave Brubeck's "Time out"

or, more recently, Green Day's "Dookie"

or Mose Allison's "Back Country Suite"

or Martin Denny's "Exotica"?

...The Eagles...

*Sigh* No offence, but castrated males screeching has never been my idea of entertainment.

I, for one, was happy to see that "style" fade away...

Someone always posts a bunch of obscure groups that makes people wonder if they are missing something or are just not musically enlightened.

The greatest CD I ever had was one I got during the Carter administration. It was a $100,000, ten-year CD at 14%.

I don't think a single one of your top 100 would make my top 1000! LOL! Different tastes, I guess.

I know this is an aquired taste, but Tom Waits - "Small Change" and "Franks Wild Years" would be on my top ten. I kind of doubt Tom is a conservative, but I hear he drives a gigantic SUV around the liberal Sebastipole area. Gotta love a man who drives big SUV around a hippie town. :oP

Thanks for reminding me of Martin Denny, always liked his music. Who did 'Poinciana'?

My taste now runs to 'Indigo' by Patrick O'Hearn. If I could listen to only one CD, that would be the one.
It's considered New Age.

Soooo generationally specific—where are Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Elvis,? And come on, you can’t leave out Metallica, Guns and Roses, Nirvana. And a personal favorite—Love--Forever Changes.

The fact that almost every Zeppelin CD is on there is right on target. The fact that not one of them made your top ten is qustionable : )

Nice list I have to agree with at 80% of those.
