They're going to let the Democrats do all the talking it seems.

-----------------------

Confronting the Democrats and the radical left will require an IQ of above 85. Unfortunately, the Republican heirarchy lack that prerequisite and need to maintain that standard of excellence in order to protect the heirarchy.

His father let the Reagan momentum slide into nothing and gave us Bubba.

Actually, I am in somewhat of a agreement with you here. I recall making the statement, " What is wrong with President Bush! It appears that he does'nt want to win the election!"

I don't really know what happened to him. He did appear to give up near the end of the campaign.

Every bit of that is correct, in addition "read my lips" and a bunch of other things. It bothered me at the time, but, like many others, I had an inkling about what Bubba was really like behind the facade and I voted Republican again, even though Rush and many of his listeners were lukewarm, at best, about Bush-41.
They wanted to "send a message" to Republican politicians and they wanted to show how bad a Democrat administration would be by contrast. Well, they did it and they have to share share the responsibility for the results. Disgruntled Conservatives, Liberals, and Solialists put Bill Clinton in our White House.

The Republican Party is basically being used as a prententious aslylum and refuge for successive generations of useless familes.

Very interesting perspective. I have noticed a few more english speaking teenagers (of all races) at the local fast food joints and a few less broken-english speaking clerks at the larger grocery chains.

Sporadic reports of SSAN checks are being made. I hope your take on this issue pans out.

Depth and definition

More a matter for historians, don't you think!

Churchill was not defined until after the war. No leader really is.

Let's see...
Immigration malaise in many forms is the most irritating and frustrating problem on my radar.
It generates or exacerbates all of our other problems.

The Republicans don't want to talk about it.

The "Progressives" want to continue as if Immigration laws don't exist.

What are the options?

I am trying really hard to remain calm.

I am trying really hard not to exercise my more colorful vocabulary

It's not working.

Time for a time-out...

and a bunch of other things.

Ah yes, there was the sleeping pill incident and the up-chuck on the Jap.

I think B-41 was stressed out and perhaps had a bout of post war depression towards the end of his term.

I believe that B-43 is well aware of his fathers failings and is determined not to fall into the same trap.

Sending men to their deaths is a awsome responsibility. B-43 seems to be handling it aggressively and has been totally on top of it. IMHO.(I am also a depression survivor)

I hope your take on this issue pans out.

Just putting two and two together. As well as news reports that are not well covered, regarding the subject. It seems the Patriot act coverage has overwhelmed the immigration news.

I hope I am correct as well. It is but a positive assessment combined with a bit of wishful thinking blended with the facts as I know them to be.

I am geting tired of trying to educate you.

It would appear that you are the one who needs education. Particularly in reading and reasoning.

Please show me any of my posts where I have suggested there is no illegal immigration problem? Can't do it, can you? Thats because I have never said, or suggested, that there is not a problem.

You have made blanket statements that are obviously unsupportable anywhere outside of your' own thoughts, neither in fact nor in realistic observation. You would seem to be expressing unreasoning and thoughtless personal bias as fact. It should be obvious to anyone of reasonable intellect that all illegal Mexicans in this country are not here to take and steal from us, nor do they have a disgust for America. A statement like this is usually more indicative of blind prejudice, even hatred, than of even an attempt at reasoned thinking.

If you can't justify your positions, change them.

If you can't show me where I have said there is no illegal immigration problem, then apologize and engage in some productive dialogue.

Don't try to dismiss your own fallacies by assigning me with some mythical position on immigration. You don't know me and you most certainly don't know my position in this matter.

If you are going to speak at all, then try speaking from the propper bodily orifice. Try engaging your mind before engaging your keyboard!

You didn't read all those posts I sent you. Did you. Too bad, you are so far behind I don't think you will ever catch up though you really should try. A mind is such a terrible thing to waste, but in your case.....

(I believe the administration is using a incremental approach to immigration control. )

It would be so nice if we could believe anything was being done. However, I think all President Bush is doing is just enough to make us think he is doing something until after the midterm elections - then it will be 'Katy-bar-the-door'. There will be amnesty for millions and we taxpayers will still be holding the bag and paying the bills. All the while, the politicians, of both sides, are rushing to the 'newly-made citizens' to see how much of our money it will take to buy their votes. It is not enough to give their children more education than ours, exempt them from many laws (just by ignoring their law breaking), give them medical care, food, school supplies, clothing, now down payment homes, preferential treatment due to their 'minority' status. They have already given them these things - just think what freebies they can conjure up when they actually get them legal and can really count on their votes.

No, I think nothing is being done - just smoke and mirrors.

While we are being invaded through our borders, primarily the southern I believe, Washington keeps our attention on other things by talking about Iraq and giving out these various alerts, etc.

From your lips to God's ear - but I don't feel it.

--------------------------

If you are the type of person who is unable to see the implications in the present I guess you will need to wait until some future time for someone called an historian to tell you what happened.

This is the cry of every fool who blindly supports a politician who lacks integrity and is betraying him.

If you translate that statement, I'll respond to it.

"Bush is not defined. Depth and definition have not been a requitement by his background and the type of life he has lived where he has been presented with effortless opportunity on the basis of being George Bush. It shows."

This is not a matter for historians. It is an observable characteristic of GW. One need not possess a Master's Degree in The Painfully Obvious to notice this. To dismiss such observations as being better decided by future academics is to absolve one's self for the responsibility of making moral decisions about the character of people who hold power. This is what they do in lesser nations without the Law, certainly not in the USA, where such discernment is the basic criteria for responsible citizenship.

My point was............................ This story is far from over.

----------------------------

Some things and many current events are like throwing a stone into the air. To the wise and competent the trajectory of the stone seems quite apparent. That the stone will fall to earth and at nearly what spot becomes obvious. One needn't wait for the event to believe it.

The capacities, trajectories, force, and momentum of George Bush is established. One need not wait for it to hit earth to know it will do so.

A year and one half before the election the leftist press got behind Bush as the front-runner and McCain as the option. You should have known you were being had at that point. The subsequent illusion of contest was engineered to be between two half-wits, Owlgore and Bush, who drew to a tie in the election.

You fell for the trap and are now committed to denying it.

Thanks for correcting that 11th grade level error in the original post.
The quote you can't understand refers to the reflex excuses folks make when someone they admire is demonstrated to be unable to do the things he or she promised to do.
Of course, but what does it have to do with anything I posted? I don't admire any politician and I don't expect them to fulfill all or even most of their promises. RLK statement, on the other hand, seems to apply perfectly to himself.
RLK's statement is perfectly understandable.
Yes, but it's irrelevant or non sequitur, whichever you prefer.

Pedantic BS similar to RLK's "any fool..." tripe. You two belong together.
