But be entirely free to me: there's evidence here that the person who did this with a domestic right-winger. That's not some FBI fantasy. Even from what we know publicly, it so appears.

Well, the whole Anthrax thing started (the first death) in Florida, not far from where Mohammed Atta and his gang was living. A pharmacist nearby said that days before 9/11, Atta and two others (later identified as 9/11 hijackers) came in and wanted a remedy for a "nasty bout of the flu", while Atta had red, raw hands and lower arms, as if he had been using harsh chemicals.

That to me is just too much evidence to ignore. It points more directly to them (add that the Princeton, NJ area was and is a area with many Islamic fundy's of Atta's stripe) and the woman in NY named Ngyuen, points to Islamic terrorists much more than a Western-style date or Tom Daschle and big media types as the targets of right-wingers. Do only right-wingers hate Tom Brokaw or Daschle? I am being as free with you as I can. I think every single bit of evidence that it was Atta and his gang should be investigated until nothing remains ot investigate. Ignoring this leaves us just too bloody vunerable. If it came from Saddam (The Chechs say the Atta visited a top Iraqi intelligence agent in April 2001 in Prague) we need to nail his butt to the wall.

Anyway, any American doing this is NOT a patriot, but a monster, and I wouldn't give a flick for his/her conservative credentials. Really, I just don't think it was. The Atta-Hussien connection is too strong.

I agree with you as to this much: the Florida connection is interesting. My point here is we don't know Hatfill's innocent and people shouldn't be rushing to form a protective ring around him. I'm trying to read more about all this and have been following up on some of the links.

Your post is well-reasoned. No, it's not just wingnuts that might go after Daschle. He's a leader and perceived as such abroad, and I doubt the Islamic fundamentalists give a fig for the difference between Republicans and Democrats here in the U.S. Sen. Leahy though: he's a bit of a magnet for criticism from the right and not the head of anything important than, well, what am I say, the Sen. Judiciary Committee is important.

I honestly don't know. We shall see. You make some good points. The way the date is written, 9-11-02, is a US/Western date style. But as a friend of mine pointed out, whoever's writing it is writing it in English and that may not be their first language so they may know to mimic the US rule of putting the month first.

Well, thanks for your thoughts, and in exchange for them, here's my joke:

Arafat goes to the Great Beyond to meet his maker. And when he gets there, George Washington walks up to him and slaps him in the face. Then Thomas Jefferson walks up to him and slaps him. Then James Madison walks up to and slaps in the face. And so it goes, this stuff keeps going on. Finally Arafat says, "Oh, I get it! They mean 72 *Virginians.*"
