Does anyone have the latest on this? On how its original intent to bring equality between men and women to all countries, has now been perverted into forcing same sex unions , etc.?

Anything that tried to bring equality to men and women -- particularly if you mean equal indivdual rights under a constitution -- would imply criticism of Islam and would therefore be politically incorrect. Anti-Americanism trumps feminism.

The proponents think they are just two votes short of having enough for ratification. You really need to be contacting your senators. This is bad, bad stuff.

found this:

CEDAW was written in the 1970s, and it embraces what is called a "social construct" theory of gender, which holds that all distinctions between the sexes have been created by men to keep women down. CEDAW calls for governments to eliminate these distinctions everywhere in society, including within schools, families and churches. On this eye opening program, Mary Jo Anderson will discuss the imminent threat family life and religious freedom if CEDAW is ratified by the US government.
