The war on terrorism will be lost soon because we do not have the will to carry it out.

I have lost my optimism on this war and this administration. But our pursuit of international and domestic comity instead of victory will just prove to those around the world that want us to die that we are weak, and that they can succeed.

This nation does not care to defend itself.

As long as Pres. Bush listens to Cheney and Rumsfield and not Powell and the liberal media we will win.

I think you speak prematurely. The war on terrorism is just beginning. It really does take time to put all the pieces in place and do it right and that is what this Administration is doing.

What we have already done is pretty impressive. The Taliban is all but wiped out in Afghanistan with minimal U.S. casualties and Al Qaida is on the run and have thus far not been able to conduct any additional acts of terrorism. Remember all those weeks after 9/11 waiting for the other shoe to drop? Well we have been terrorism free for nearly a year now and unfortunately there are those who just want to snipe and take potshots at Bush. Apparently, because we haven't nuked Mecca yet or seen big things blow up on TV, there are people who assume we are sitting on our hands and doing nothing.

There is no doubt in my mind that our job over there is just beginning and when we are finished, the terrorists, or what is left of them, will rue the day they crashed those airliners into our buildings on 9/11.

I would also like to discuss the disturbing photos at the top of this thread. At first I wondered why those people trapped up top jumped to their deaths instead of waiting for a rescue attempt. I now realize that the temperatures must have been unbearable up there from the fires below and that jumping to a sure death below was preferable to literally burning to death above. We should never forget the horrible choice those people faced that day.

You are so correct.

The people flaming you are high on patriotism, but they lack the insight into how lame the FBI, and the rest of the US gov., is.

The same people who think Larry Klayman is a money-hungry freak think the FBI really cares about US national security.

Remember FL800? Why did the FBI lie? And the CIA?

THERE'S ALWAYS A LOGICAL REASON...

Listening to the likes of you, there wouldn't be any hope at all. But, thankfully, people don't listen to the likes of you.

This nation DOES care to defend itself, except for the few, such as you, and including the Leftist, Socialist UnAmericans. Where are you been, man. Wake up and be POSITIVE about your country. Our forefathers were not quitters. They had a POSITIVE attitude toward survival.

Wake up your SURVIVAL instincts.

This nation does not care to defend itself.

It's herself, and people have been defending this country since 9/11. You, obviously are not in the loop.

You know it's so nice to have a representative of the dumber than a small pile of rocks community here to inform us of the "REAL" story.

Exactly what part of "At an hour of OUR choosing, we will get you" don't you understand.

You have no idea how furious your adolecent comment made me. I deleted my first responce to you because it would have gotten me banned.

I don't think you meant it to come off the way it did, but it was a callous, immature and totally thoughtless comment. We will get them, we won't forget, and as long as people like you are not in charge, we will win.

"The war on terrorism will be lost soon because we do not have the will to carry it out. "

I hope you're wrong, but I do wonder.

What is certain is that we didn't have the arms to carry it out. We couldn't muster planes with missiles to intercept the suicide planes, and until very recently we dared not take on Iraq again. We managed the assault on Afghanistan but that strained our forces terribly-- requiring tens of thousands of reserves to be called up, running us out of conventional cruise missiles, sorely testing the longevity of several types of airframe... The worst effect of all that is to have delayed our escalation of the War on Terror, which in turn left the door open for leftists and appeasers to smother the nation's newfound spirit in its crib. It's a sad spectacle, but I don't know what more we could have done in the past 11 months... save go nuclear, which most agree is an unacceptable option (not sure I'm one of 'em, though).

I think you are a naysayer. I also think there is a HUGE surprize in store for said "naysayers".

You see, we feel that this President and his administration are getting it "exactly" right for a change.

They aren't tipping off people who would collectively "spill the beans".. until there is a definite need to know.

Thus, they are protecting our troops, and our nation, better than any administration in the past.

When the time comes, and it will, they WILL inform Congress, the American people, and other Nations. They will SHOW them PROOF positive as to why we are going in, and there will be no doubts. NONE!!

They aren't going to allow some dignitary from another country to foil plans that would harm our own soldiers, and they aren't going to tell Congressmen or Senators who WOULD compromise the security of those people. Not yet!

We are also very interested to see who LEAKED CLASSIFIED INFORMATION from Congress!!! Senators to be exact!!

They/Senators, (or Congressmen/women) should be punished as severely as any military person would be for leaking said information. PERIOD!!!

Think about it all.. and you'll figure out the "why's" and the "wherefores".

I am sorry to say this, but perhaps this is the reason you feel we do not have the will to carry this war out. I believe very much that the President does, I also believe the other side is doing all it can to make sure citizens lose faith in his administration, and it appears to be having an impact.

It is not the adminstration who is dragging it's feet and is the voice of dessension out there, it is the liberal media and their chosen favorites, the RATS who want to stop this war for their own political agenda.

Is that a commentary on the present administration or the previous one? Or of
the American people in general? You think we're ALL suckers or just in general?

I, for one am still optimistic. Count me as one on your sucker list, I guess. I
prefer to still think that with good leadership (current administration), we are still
a great country. Under clintoon, we were lost and you are correct. We need to
make moral clarity a priority or we are lost.....just imho......
