CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- A review of the town's rules on political signs sparked by a patriotic banner hung last year after Sept. 11 has ended with a Town Council vote to loosen restrictions.
The 8-1 decision last week eliminates the size limit that tripped up Franklin Street restaurant owner Scott Maitland, who hung a banner proclaiming "God Bless America, Woe to Our Enemies."

Maybe, but I seriously doubt it.
I can almost guarantee you that if the banner had said...
"Down with America, the Great Satan!"
...there wouldn't have been a PEEP from the town council.
LOL.....those were almost my exact thoughts when I read this. How'd the voters of The People's Republic of Chapel Hill let this one slip by?
