Get ready for the full-court press from the media. If there's one thing they're good at, it's whipping up a frenzy where none was before. The newspaper columnists, television sportscasters and radio talk show hosts will harp on this over and over, feeding malcontents such as Burk, who will then point to the increased publicity as evidence of public sentiment in favor of change. Watch especially for commentary from journalists who couldn't tell a golf ball from a medicine ball, but suddenly know exactly what's best for Augusta National. Proponents of letting women into the club will be portrayed as progressive; opponents as women-hating neanderthals. Fact is, if this is the most pressing issue in the women's rights movement, I'd say life here in the U.S. is pretty cushy.

What is the National Council of Womens Organizations? I never heard of it before this thread. Is this a new group formed specifically for this protest?
