But she resigned and broke two separte rules. This makes no sense. The winner-up should file suit now.

Judge Rules In Favor Of Revels

POSTED: 5:55 p.m. EDT September 3, 2002
UPDATED: 3:19 p.m. EDT September 4, 2002

Rebekah Revels will continue as Miss North Carolina.

A Wake County judge ruled Wednesday afternoon that topless photos of Revels -- if they exist -- are not a violation of her contract with pageant officials.

Last week, Judge Narley Cashwell issued a temporary restraining order returning the crown to Revels. His action Wednesday turned that temporary order into a preliminary injunction.

Cashwell pointed out that no one who testified, other than Revels, had actually seen the photographs.

Based on that, he said he is satisfied that Revels did not engage "in an act or activity that could be characterized as dishonest, immodest, indecent or in bad taste."

Closing arguments in the two-day hearing started around noon. Cashwell had to decide if the North Carolina Pageant Association wrongfully terminated a contract with Miss North Carolina 2002, Rebekah Revels.

Revels took the stand Wednesday morning. She said when a e-mail surfaced regarding topless photos taken by her former fiance, Tosh Welsh, she explained to the N.C. Pageant Association that the photos were taken without her consent...

"Gotta love that name."

Yeah, that name has come to represent a word that in it's original form must be spelled with asterics representing many letters, to get it past our Moderators.

It's a pity that two young ladies may suffer as the results of the actions of one's spiteful boy friend and the pettiness of the politically correct snobs who officiate the Miss America Pagent. Either young lady could represent this state and do us proud. Ms. Revels has enjoyed few of the thrills of victory over the past year-Ms. Clymer on the other hand has enjoyed the prize of the winner for a year after coming in second, far more than she ever expected after the winner was picked at the pagent. THe only way to recompense Ms. Revels for the injustices heaped upon her this year, is to reinstate her as Miss North Carolina and send her to the Miss America Contest.

If the Miss Amereica Pagent denies our entrant, or passes her up for some other state's entrant, who is obviousely less qualified-North Carolina should refrain from sending a candidate next year.

I will definately be watching this year, something I have not done in a long, long time-not since the pagent was swallowed up by the fauxpietyites, who while pretending to be looking for the pretty little girl next door types, are air brushing the girls and chorographing the amateur beauty and talent contest into just another pretentious Hollywood spectaclar that leaves main street and country lane Americans as disappointed and depressed as they are about what the same type greedy jackasses have done to Country Music and Nashville.

Real Americans are not impressed by Gods, Goddesses and Royalty. WE like real people, who go out among the pretend people and beat them at their own game, but never become one of them, their anchors moored deep in reality-the life line firmly attached to their heart an conscience.

I will respect and root for whichever Lady is our representative at the Miss America Pagent, with the same fervency as the contempt I feel for the officials whose twisted logic created this situation.

He said national officials feared another nude picture scandal like the one in 1984 that forced the resignation of Vanessa Williams, the first black Miss America.

And we all know what Ms. Williams has made of herself since then. Does anyone even remember who was on the pageant board?

Spoken like a true gentleman, F.J.
Your comments remind me of why I love North Carolina's state motto:

Esse Quam Videri, "To be rather than to seem."

Take care,
CD
