Liberals Again Trying to Suppress Free Speech (My Title)
The Washington Times ^ | September 10, 2002 | Joseph R. Pitts

There is something terribly wrong with America's bankruptcy laws. Despite two of the longest economic expansions in history, consumer bankruptcies have nearly quadrupled since the early 1980s. There is no consensus on why this has happened, but it seems clear that bankruptcy is increasingly being used as a convenient tool for those who want to escape their debt burdens.

Thank you Mr. Pitts, The Washington Times, and TBP for highlighting this travesty of justice.

If such "laws" are allowed to stand and be inculcated, how long before other forms of "protest" and "free speech" will make their way onto the list?

It's all becoming clear to me now:

Credit cards cause bankruptcies, guns shoot kids and other innocent people, SUV's overturn and kill their drivers and passengers, alcohol is to be blamed for highway collisions and illegal drugs cause people to end up in jail.

You are right. Pro-lifers protest to SAVE lives not to cause violence or harm to lives. We should pray alot about this. America has legalized murder and apparently it doesn't even faze 43% of pregnant women. It's extremly disturbing.

One of the major reasons is that for the past 30 years, school kids at all levels have been given a piss poor education in economics, especially such simple economics as personal finance.

Well they sure won't learn much from the media or major special interest "think tanks" like the Cato Institute who distort economics to reflect their political agenda. Same propaganda typically soils and encrusts most tax policy lobbies.

One of the better, academicly objective resources I've found on the Internet is AmosWEB.

always promotes their freedom-hating, marxist agenda.. - that's their job - it's amazing that the human race could never come up with a punishment that would fit the crimes of these evil Rats

Why did you leave off especially such simple economics as personal finance from my quote when quoting me?

If high schools would provide education in such matters has managing credit cards, personal loans, balancing a checkbook, to importance of making payments on time, etc... people would be a lot better off for it.

It sounds stupid to suggest that people need to be given a course in how to balance their checkbook, but the reality of the matter is that far to many people have no idea how to do it!

Because I chose to address the portion concerning education in economics, not personal finance.

Well, being that the thread is concerned with a bill regarding PERSONAL BANKRUPTCY, the emphasis of economic education in this matter should be directed at PERSONAL FINANCE.
