I haven't heard that said anywhere else, it was probably a goof by a local station. I'll check the White House site and a couple of others

Agree with dog... I'm guessing an address to a joint session of Congress next week or shortly thereafter.

Daschle wants to wait until after the election to hold this debate. No doubt Saddam supports that idea.

However, when Bush asks them to debate it (soon, probably), then Daschle's in a hole. He can't say yes, and he can't say no. He's simply squashed by events.

Any bets on when Bush asks?

I am awestruck that McCain got on the train. But, he sure doesn't look healthy.

The Brits are going to introduce a resolution today or tomorrow that will contain all the airtight conditions, draconian sanctions and expeditied timeframes necessary to get a U.N. yea or nay on supporting our mission. Bush's objective today was to unequivocally demonstrate their moral and organizational obligation to removing Saddam. The time frame is now, and I anticipate that a Security Council and General Assembly resolution will be presented and voted upon within a week.

This process has momentum, and we'll see a Congressional measure sooner rather than later as well. The Dems don't value anything but holding the Senate, and they will not hold the Senate if they are diddling on Iraq. The American people want a U.N. involvement if possible. They wanted Bush to do what he did today. Now he has the proxy of all our friends and family who don't follow politics like we do, but who trust this President and understand what is at stake.

Yes, McCain is significant because Daschle would play him like a song if he were on the other side of the street.

Yes, the President has opened up a can of that stuff on McCain before. LOL McCain knows it when he sees it and he doesn't want any more.

John McCain says Tom Daschle should allow Senate to vote supporting the President. McCain said he's convinced Democrats will vote with the President. McCain also said he's convinced beating Iraq will be much easier than before, that it would not be very difficult to carry out, not be a protracted struggle.

Yep. Japan Kyodo news reports (in Japanese) that was updated news just a few minutes ago. (Re the Brits will walk point on this now aggressively, in a hand off maneuver from the USA. Brilliant teamwork). Watch the fun.

A friend who lives there says that ousting Daschle is VERY VERY doable.

I hope your friend is right. I have always been mystified how a Socialist RAT like Daschle can win election after election in state that is by and large conservative.
