I never tired of hearing the stories of people who saved others (the actual heroes) but would quickly change channels when media people asked each other how they felt, what 9/11 meant to the Muslims, if the media was covering the stories properly, etc.

"The trouble is we're all being so sensitive about Muslims that pretty much everything that goes on within the isolated Islamic communities of the West is presumed to be a "cultural tradition" that we chaps can't understand and should just leave alone - like taking your camera to school on the morning of September 11."

Or like learning how to fly but not land an airliner.

Mark Steyn: We must all be more sensitive

Excerpt:

Among the more interesting Muslim items this past year was a story that appeared last October 11 in the Journal News, a suburban New York newspaper. It concerned a student in a Brooklyn high school, who, on September 6, 2001, stared out of the window and told his teacher: "See those two buildings? They won't be standing there next week."

Many of us heard similar stories - supposedly "urban legends" - in the weeks after September 11, but only one reporter did anything about them. Jeffrey Scott Shapiro interviewed the teacher, Antoinette DiLorenzo, and the boy's brother - they're Palestinian immigrants. The Journal News ran the piece on page seven, lest it provoke - all together now - "a backlash". The story held up, which is more than Shapiro's career did. By the end of the day, he was no longer the Journal News crime reporter.

On September 10, 2001, a sixth-grade student of Middle Eastern origin at a Jersey City school warned his teacher to stay away from Lower Manhattan because "something bad was going to happen". Teachers at schools within sight of the World Trade Centre report that, as the towers burned, a lot of Muslim pupils were taking pictures: it seemed odd that so many of them happened to have brought their cameras to school on that particular day.

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my General Interest ping list!. . .don't be shy.

Like being made part of the pavement if you don't convert to Islam pronto? I'm sure we'll find out though I pray it never happens in my lifetime. I agree with Mark Steyn that attempts to convert Muslims into Bambi innocents persecuted by the American Gestapo just don't wash. They want to live in this country but not to become Americans. If we had the druthers we'd send em all packing back home. Of course defending ourselves from would be radical Islamists in our midst is considered being insufficiently "sensitive" to Islam. And the point is that we were in fact too sensitive to Islam on the morning of 9-11, 3,000 Americans paid with their lives. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The Muslims are doing it to themselves, much like President Bush said that Saddam Hussein had made the case against himself.

Case in point: the "medical students" (quotes because I am not convinced yet) who were detained in Florida. Relatives came out and started immediately attacking the woman from Georgia, carping about racism and such.

Perhaps the "students" were in the wrong. That didn't stop them from making racism allegations.

Wasn't this an urban legend? It's real? How do you handle a young member of one of these organized terrorist crime families?
