Does Beckel deserve some credit for courage in doing so?

I thought so on another thread, but it seems to be a minority opinion around here. Apparently the way to view this is that the law is the law, break it by so much as overstaying your welcome at a parking meter, and you might as well start handing over your cash to blackmailers because you will get no sympathy here.

Its hard to stay Republican with some of these attitudes, real hard.

Thumper has just proved my point, and I can agree with him not one wit. Legally there is a world of difference between the tow. Extortion is a felony and we send rackateers to jail for a long long time for it and you lose a lot of your civil rights, including sitting on juries, voting, and bearing arms. Prostitution is a misdemeanor. You pay a fine and go home, unless you are a repeat offender in which case you might do a short stint in jail.

Beckel can never be disgusted with himself. Well....maybe only in that he got caught in an extortion plot. But remember, Beckel was the one "quietly gathering intelligence" on electors during the attempted Demoncrat theft of the presidency in 2000. What was he gathering? Evidence to possibly blackmail electors into voting for Algore? One has to wonder.

Beckel is no more than a common traitorous criminal who has become offended when one of his amoral co-sub-species tried to blackmail him.

While the bimbo and her accomplices will no doubt serve time for their crimes, Beckel will go on, celebrated for his loyalty to his party and his anti-American beliefs.
