It would be sooo nice to believe the Muslims are turning in the cells that are operating out of their mosques, but I agree that this is BS.

My guess would be Steve Martin :)

Dr. Khalid Qazi, President of the WNY American Muslim Council, answers questions from the media immediately after evidence was removed by the FBI from a suspected terrorist cell safehouse on Wilkes Barre Avenue in Lackawanna, N.Y. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2002. Dr. Qazi said he was told the investigation started when the local Muslim community reported suspicious activities to the FBI. Hey, isn't that the American Museum Council, at least according to Hillary's FEC filings? ;)

Good summary Magnus!
Add to this that one of the traitors was arrested for cigarette fraud in the late 90's and has a record of committing crimes.
Yemenis have been in Buffalo for many years and mostly keep to themselves. They have lost upwards 15 of their own in store shootings over the years - they are not much liked by the City's Black community at all. And now, they will be suspect by everyone. That's a good thing.
As far as the Muslim community ratting on their own - that's hogwash. They are totally loyal to each other some out of fear and others out of their own misguided convictions. The media and the officals are making a big deal out of Muslim Americans reporting the suspicious behaviors but that is only to prevent vigilanteeism and to sow the seeds of doubt in the Muslim community.
This is an evolving situation and I can report back further soon.

Thanks. When I drove down there today, it was very clear that they're a tight community and probably had sense of what was going on long before the FBI stepped in. The fact that they - the five suspects - went to Laden's training camp in Afghanastain and not Yemen should scratch a few heads.
To: MagnusMat
They probably went to Yemen first! Then they went to Pakistan probably via Saudi Arabia. Of course, I don't know this for sure, but they definitely did not go to Afghanistan directly from the US.
As for their "tightness" - that's partly because their ways are so different from mainstream American ways and the aloofness and secrecy is meant to to keep Americans at arm's length in general from knowing the sordidness (yes sordidness) of reality in Yemeni communities.
There is also the element of fear within the community itself, especially among the 2nd and 3rd generation females.

ok perhaps I did "fall for it" - it would be perhaps too good to be true - but in all honesty - is there any reason not to believe that statement.. never mind I answered my own question (Its in a newspaper...)

I would take this a little more seriously if i could just see 1 terrorist swinging from a rope.

an "un-pc" question for one and all....why are women with a red dot on their forehead the most sought after as brides? Answer: after the wedding, the groom gets to scratch it off and see if he won a 7-11.

Yes. Hillary claimed it was a typo. See this Washington Post
story, or just Google up "AMERICAN MUSLIM COUNCIL MUSEUM HILLARY".

"He's a peaceful person. The whole neighborhood loves him and every person that's ever met him loves him," Mosed said. "I would put my life on the line just to prove they're innocent."
Uh-huh.

We really need to think twice about keeping these vermin alive in prison, would be far better to exterminate them ASAP.
