You miss the point. Linux is NOT aimed at the general PC market.........either for the home user or even for the average "business" user. When it comes to Intel platforms (desktop, deskside), it IS aimed squarely at the TECHNICAL desktop (think "UNIX replacement") and is kicking major ass.
