German Justice Minister Daeubler-Gmelin won't be in New Cabinet

Justice Ministry: Five affadavits confirm Daubler-Gmelin's version in the controversy over the Bush Hitler comparison. If the SPD wins the election, - she'll not be appointed into the new cabinet.

Berlin - Federal Justice Minister Herta Daeubler-Gmelin (SPD) according to the Justice Ministry has five affadavits, which confirm their version in the controversy over the alleged Bush Hitler comparison. Regardless of its it - independently of the election results - will have to give up their past office.

As was reported from government and SPD circles in Berlin, Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder (SPD) will not in any case appoint Daeubler Gmelin again into a new cabinet post. With his casting of votes to the election to the Bundestag on Sunday in Hanover the chancellor did not express himself to the topic.

The statements of the explanations in the affadavits proved that Daeubler Gmelin had made no connection between Adolf Hitler and US-Praesident George W. Bush, furthermore had excluded such connection between both as wrong and inadmissibly, according to the Justice Ministry.

The SPD politician had explained according to the Schwaebisches Tageblatt before work council members: "Bush wants to divert from its difficulties relating to domestic affairs. That is a popular method. That already made also Hitler." Daeubler Gmelin had rejected this representation.

The Ministry denied the report by Die Welt am Sonntag about two work council members, who took part in the meeting and were ready to confirm the newspaper's story. The work council members have denied the story, according to the Ministry. One of the members threatened legal steps, in case the statement is further publicly spread.
