Remember when Carter was president, and the Iranian hostage crisis took all his energy and time? Our executive branch couldn't focus on anything else because Carter was so preoccupied with that issue. It looks as if Gore wants Bush to be focused solely on al-Qaeda, as if the whole world would stop while the anti-terrorist campaign is going on. That would lead to another stagnant period in our history, and Bush would be toast come 2004. I guess Gore really is playing politics with this issue!

"...The Clinton Administration launched a massive series of air strikes against Iraq for the state purpose of setting back his capacity to pursue weapons of mass destruction...."

Major CYA.

Jim, if Al Gore was the CIC,

We would still be waiting for Kofi Annan to issue a resolution so Al Gore could negotiate with the Taliban.

The Taliban would have joined up with Pakistan and Osama bin Laden had control on Pakistan's Nukes.

By now Kuwait would have been taken over by Iraq.

Arafat would be armed to the teeth by Iraq

Kyoto would be law

Taxes would be raised

Embrionic Stem Cells would be sold to the highest bidder

The ABM treaty would still be honored

The Military gutted further

An increase in tax payer paid for abortions over seas

The Courts being packed further with Liberals

Hillary as the Attorney General

Wellstone as the Secretary of Defense

And on & on & on & on & on..........

Al Gore foreign policy would be to talk long enough, so he will put Saddam to sleep.

Moreover, if we quickly succeed in a war against the weakened and depleted fourth rate military of Iraq and then quickly abandon that nation as President Bush has abandoned Afghanistan after quickly defeating a fifth rate military there, the resulting chaos could easily pose a far greater danger to the United States than we presently face from Saddam. We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country. We have no evidence, however, that he has shared any of those weapons with terrorist group. However, if Iraq came to resemble Afghanistan – with no central authority but instead local and regional warlords with porous borders and infiltrating members of Al Qaeda than these widely dispersed supplies of weapons of mass destruction might well come into the hands of terrorist groups. If we end the war in Iraq, the way we ended the war in Afghanistan, we could easily be worse off than we are today. When Secretary Rumsfield was asked recently about what our responsibility for restabilizing Iraq would be in an aftermath of an invasion, he said, “that’s for the Iraqis to come together and decide.”

HEY AL, WHAT THE FRUCK DO YOU THINK THESE GUYS ARE DOING IN AFGHANISTAN AS YOU SPEAK!

Gore has to be the most boring and uninspiring politician on earth.
I couldn't even get through the entire transcript.

Gore is really showing his political aptitude by opposing Bush on Iraq at a time when polls show 67% of Americans support Bush on Iraq.
What a total klutz.
