Democrat (Townsend) in Md. governor's race asks opponent to stop running corruption ad

The gubernatorial campaign of Democratic Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend demanded Monday that Republican Robert Ehrlich stop running a television ad linking the administration to corruption or provide evidence to justify the claim.

The ad begins with Ehrlich talking about "the mess in Annapolis" and then switches to a graphic referring to Townsend and Gov. Parris Glendening.

Ummmmmm did her boss stop the negative campaigning about the comptroller...no!!! But now Erlich should because she does not like what he is saying. Too bad maybe it is the truth.

They ran an ad accusing Republican Ellen Saurebrey of being a racist about 3 days before one of our last elections for governor. Looks like they are getting a taste of their own medicine mixed with a big dose of truth.

I think I'll call Erlich's office in the morning and tell them "Great job!" There is noooo way the Rats won't go negative on this one. They always do and it works. Glad the Repubs have finally figured it out.

KKT's first response to Alan Fleischman after seeing the new Ehrlich ad: "Hey, the traffic in Ruxton isn't that bad! Those big Republican meanies are making fun of me again, Alan. Heheheee- just wait until he hits the specifics! She's going to have to resurrect the dead -again- to win this election. In Baltimore, election day is known as "Maryland's Own Dio De Los Muertos."
