"I know there are things she would have liked to say."

"Damn, I got caught"

I would certainly say that intentionally aggravating race relations and insulting white people in general by lying to investigators and filing a false police report is certainly a hate crime.

Shoot!! I thought she might have held a gun to her own head when caught and said, "one more step and the N-word *itch gets it"

haha! Now this lady will sit in jail and she has a burnt pile of junk to drive around town when she gets out.

I think she should be charged with a hate crime - because, by definition, that's what it was.

Wonder if the insurance companies (fire, home, vehicle) will be filing civil suits. I surely hope.

From the nbc6 (Charlotte) web site ....

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- A federal judge sentenced a Huntersville woman to six months in federal prison for faking a hate crime.

[snip]

The judge called the crime “totally repulsive” during Tuesday’s sentencing.

In addition to the prison sentence, Sealey was sentenced to two years probation and $5,825 in fines. Part of the money will go to her two insurances companies and the rest to the Crime Victims Fund of Huntersville.

[snip]

She faced up to 45 years in prison and more than $2 million in fines.

If the judge was so "repulsed" why in the world did he let her off so easy?!!!

I agree, she should have been made an example.

I would bet that a lot could "accidentally" happen to her in prison in 1/2 year, though.

See #32:

"In addition to the prison sentence, Sealey was sentenced to two years probation and $5,825 in fines.
Part of the money will go to her two insurances
(sic) companies and the rest to the Crime Victims Fund of Huntersville."

Wow! Two WHOLE YEARS probation.
That judge was so, so cruel. /sarcasm

"All she wanted to do was go back to California."

Hahaha, I wonder why?

"My client and everyone in the community are looking for closure," he said.

"Closure". A phrase I am sick of hearing. Along with "connect the dots" and "herding cats". There should be a $500 tax on each person each time they use any of these trite, meaningless phrases.

(This minor rant in no way reflects either approval or disapproval of the ideas or posts of the Freeper who uses the screen name "Connect the dots.)

"Please note that she WAS FROM EOMEWHERE ELSE! The nuts and fruits in our state are raised "mainly on the plain", so to speak. "

from the article: "The town of Huntersville was a victim," Childress said. "She used the racial aspect as a ploy to get support. All she wanted to do was go back to California."

Looks like California might have to claim this nut after all. From Claifornia to North Carolina and then back to California where she belongs.

How about:

"....at the end of the day---" and any pause that is followed by

"any-who"
