Ummm....well, technically, we did bring in a bunch of rocket scientists that absolutely were Nazis. Also brought in a bunch to the old OSS which became the CIA. Only hundreds, not thousands, but we did do it. It was decided at the very top it was necessary. The spies had tons of material on the Soviets, the scientists helped with our rocket and nuclear programs.

The first reviews of them showed that many (not all) were died in the wool Nazies. So, they scuttled the reports and greensheeted them (declared that the reviews had determined they were NOT Nazies). But - they were. This is not even a secret anymore - a lot of the paperwork was declassified in the 90's because it was so long ago.

I'd believe Fox before I'd believe CNN.

Same here, CNN would cover for the dims as long as they could.

In the search conducted, 15.7 kg of Uranium was found in a cylindrical lead container of 7 cm diameter attached inside a secret compartment under one of the seats.

Besides, CNN knows darned well that if it's weapons grade, the Dems are, there's no nice way to say this, screwed.

And that goes for the Germans too. Not only have they been busy trying to get Iraq off the hook so that their complicity in the Iraqi weapons program could remain hidden, but they are still at it. "East Europe" my butt!!

This is still hidden away in their toy chest:

It's enough to make one wish we hadn't helped re-build Germany. I'm 50% German and consider them beneath contempt.

Sorry Scotty old boy, but as a former Marine officer, I'm afraid that you deserve to be tried for TREASON.

Just strange. very strange. What with this guy's intelligence and knowledge, why is he making unfounded declarative statements -- Iraq has no nukes, etc. -- that fly in the of a great deal of evidence. This just doesn't make any sense. And it can't be just about being dissed by the Congress, or a paltry loan to finance a movie. No, either there is a lot more money involved that no-one has discovered or this guy is SERIOUSLY disturbed. The latter is my bet.

Turkish police seize smuggled uranium

By Tabitha Morgan Istanbul
Turkish police say they have seized more than 15 kilograms (34.5 pounds) of weapons grade uranium, which had been smuggled into the country from Eastern Europe.
Two men have been arrested for questioning in the south of the country, close to the Syrian border.
According to the Turkish state news agency, the uranium was being transported in a taxi, concealed in a lead container beneath the seats.
The taxi was intercepted near the south-west town of Sanliurfa, after police received a tip-off.
It is not yet clear where the uranium, estimated to be worth $5m on the black market, was being taken, but it is unlikely there would have been a market for it within Turkey.
The Turkish media have been speculating that the alleged smugglers, both Turks, may have planned to take the weapons grade material through Syria and on into Iraq.
The seizure is the biggest of its kind in recent years.
Since the collapse of the Soviet bloc, Turkey has been a transit route for smuggled nuclear materials, many of which have found their way onto the black market in Istanbul.
Last year two men were arrested in the city after trying to sell a kilo of uranium wrapped in newspaper to undercover police agents.
While the Turkish authorities will welcome this latest seizure, they will be uneasy about the international focus on Turkey as a smuggling route for such dangerous materials.

I sure would like to see him turned over to his former branch for a little "counseling". In this case, I'd even let the officers have a go at him first - but of course, in the end it would be one of the NCOs that would do him up right. Hard to think of an end to Scott Ritter's miserable existence that would fit the crimes he's committed against the nation and the Corps. Chesty Puller must be spinning in his grave by now.

In case I've offended any of you Marines out there in the past with some of my military branch humor, I hope you know it wasn't meant seriously. After all, The Corps is the only other Infantry out there. (Plus I spent 6 weeks of hell at Marine Corps PLC, Quantico VA back in 1980. So in essence I'm one of you.)

I've heard of that... Project Paperclip... we wouldn't have had our rockets without those guys giving us a kick start. But, I was under the impression that none were actually nazi's. I know that Von Braun was working under the Hitler regime to create liquid fueled rockets, but he never professed any nazi views in the recordings and articles I reviewed on the subject...if you have others, I'm happy to receive the reference.
