While on the subject of Trinity, here's an interesting photo of the blast:

For all the information regarding the test, go to http://nuketesting.enviroweb.org/hew/Usa/Tests/Trinity.html and check it out. This is where the Federation of American Scientists moved their High Energy Weapons Archive. Good stuff.

your URL ends in alkholoud, or "al-kholoud"... which appears to be a snack food. Maybe it has to do with those grotesque palestinian terrorist potato chips that were in the news a while back. Yick.

Or look up "alkholoud" in google ... some really odd stuff pops up, including one URL which has something like "killsharon" on it.

Remember back on Saddam's birthday, when his generals told him of something that they had finally produced for him on his birthday? And that it wouldn't be the last one they built?

OMG! Entirely plausible.

dang nab it muskie ! I hit the private reply function instead of post reply...

42,000,000 pounds of TNT... I am imagining a 100 car freight train... that would be 420,000 pounds per car. Physically, would a single box car be capable of transporting that much weight ? The amount of space that would be taken up physically by 420,000 pounds of TNT would be enormous. I am just guessing here but it seems like it would take about 400 boxcars to carry the equivalent amount of TNT that was in the force/energy yielded during the detonation of Fatman.

Calculate away freepers !

Scott Ritter Lies Across America Tour Continues
9/17 on Crossfire:

NOVAK: So he has a situation of no inspectors. And they couldn't account for them before that. You were one of those who couldn't account for them. Doesn't the vice president have a point?

RITTER: Hell no. The vice president just made the point for inspections. If the vice president has this intelligence information that he claims to have, give it to the inspectors, get them in and let them uncover the weaponry. It's as simple as that. Let the inspectors do their job.

Iraq just wove the rope that's going to be used to hang them. They've agreed to unconditional return of inspectors, giving them unfettered access. If Iraq screws up and says well, hold, you can't come here or no, we put we put on a condition here, it's all over. Now Bush has a case for war. And guess what? I'll be right there with him, volunteering my service to take on the most brutal dictator the world has ever seen in modern times.

And then this Gem

NOVAK: Mr. Ritter, we're just about out of time. I'm struck by the critical comments made about you by your former colleagues in the inspection. I'll just use one of them by Richard Spertzel, former chief biological weapons inspector says to you, "how does he know what 100 percent is -- 100 percent of no weapons? I don't. And how many biological sites did he visit? The answer is none. He has no knowledge of those sites."

Why do your colleagues have this low opinion of your capabilities in assessing the situation?

RITTER: First of all, you quote one person, Richard Spertzel. You could quote David Kay, who never worked with me. You could quote Charles Dalford who...

NOVAK: How about Butler -- ambassador...

RITTER: Richard Butler. There's four. I'll give you Ralph Acais (ph), I'll give you Tim Traband (ph), Roger Hill. I'll go down the list. The bottom line is everyone knows that I was a great inspector, that I carried out the will of the Security Council, I'm a good American who loves my country, I'm a good patriot who wants to do right by my country. And with dear respect to Dick's Spertzel, he's not working to get inspectors in. He's working to screw the pooch. I'm working to get the inspectors in, which is a military term.

You know, I could keep a whole blog of Ritter quotes. Unfortunately today would contradict tomorrow, but at least it would be interesting.

Just as an FYI, theres a documentary out called "The Atomic Bomb Movie", its narrated by William Shatner, and describes in relative detail how we were able to increase weapon output through a process called boosting i believe, you might be able to rent it at the local video store, i cant remember how I got my copy though!

I don't think it's bin Laden in that photo montage, but when you fool around with the link to it, you get this:

link

which does have bin Laden's photo on it.

Just reported on CNN, 7:00 p.m. EST, authorities are trying to determine whether the uranium is WEAPONS grade or not.

And now Babs S. will have to check in with Jessica Lange, who hates George Bush so much that she's ashamed to be an American, apparently.

This kinda makes you wish that they would turn Ritter over to a couple of ex-soldiers (in time but forever in heart) like us, huh?

"So wouldn't 33 pounds of weapons grade uranium compressed together in a capsule like that blow up in a nuclear explosion, or at least melt right down through that table top, the floor of a car, and anything else it came in contact with?"

It's not compressed. Uranium is freakin' heavy (which is why depleted Uranium is used for armor-piercing bullets).

Hmmm, Fox is just now saying it's weapons grade. Wonder which it is.

I'd believe Fox before I'd believe CNN. Besides, CNN knows darned well that if it's weapons grade, the Dems are, there's no nice way to say this, screwed.

"Made in West Germany" in ENGLISH?

English is an internationally used language, you know - particularly in the tech field.

Here is a translation, at last
(with a little help from my wife)

Contraband Uranium at Urfa.

At Urfa
15 kilo 700 grams uranium
for nuclear weapon construction
was discovered.

It is supposed that it came from the Eastern Block
and has a worth of 5 million dollars.

According to the knowledge
that has been acquired by the Gendarmes,
the Contraband and Organized Crime Department Direction
had been informed of the possibility
that someone was trying to sell the uranium
used to construct an atomic bomb

Following up on this,
they followed Salih Y and Mehmet D
in a Taxi with licence plate 63 T 0005
on the Urfa Gaziantep highway
and stopped them on the top of the hill.

They looked under the seat
and found a secret compartment
with a cylinder hidden
that contained 15 kilo 700 grams
of uranium.

The authorities suppose that the uranium
came from the Eastern Block
and has an approximate market value
of 5 million dollars.

The two men were arrested and are being interrogated.
