AAR issues an embargo on all trains carring marine containers to the West coast ports. Trains are already congested unable to unload at their destination.

I remember when they went on strike in the ' 70s. Sleepy little Todos Santos bay in Ensenada was chock full of cargo ships from Japan and Germany. The Mexicans were unloading cars by hand faster than the American longshoreman could by machine.

This could seriously hurt our economy if not stopped NOW!!!The damage was already done by allowing so much production of goods to be transfered offshore. It's just plain stupid to be overly reliant on the operation of a few coastal ports for items we are capable of producing ourselves.

This is the result of a lockout, not a strike.

The lock out is a result of a slowdown in essence a strike.
The company is asking for a temp agreemant from the Union to carry over while the issues at hand are resolved. Union walked out of a meeting and so far has refused to negoiate in good faith. I'll bet the rats are at the bottom of this.

Don't look now, but engineering, IT, radiology and many more highly-paid "tech" skills are being shipped overseas, now that manufacturing has been done away with here. I think I'll learn to cut hair. Eight years of college down the drain.

Eight years of college down the drain.
Isn't that what John Belushi said in Animal House?

The President MUST act tomorrow, installing a cooling off period and back to work order.

Demorat controlled unions are the cause, trying to constipate the economy to use for political leverage. I wouldn't doubt it, but the problem is there's not a single elected Republican in the land that will call them on it.
