This entire spectacle is a sham. If Lautenberg is elected, he will resign so that the Democratic governor can appoint a replacement.

Can they really do something so obvious?!?!?!

I can see it now: Torricelli withdraws; Lautenberg runs and wins; Lautenberg resigns; and the governor appoints Torricelli. Lovely.
