Modern conservatives endorse and sponsor social welfare programs and believe that individuality must be sacrificed for the greater good of party, or state.

I don't have any "squishy liberal" friends; I may have to work with some, and there are several in my extended family (rumor says even Texas' own John Sharp is kin), but would I freely choose to associate with these people?
No way; neither will I vote for John Sharp for anything, family or not.
